SPARTANS COME HOME ON A HIGH NOTE

SARASOTA FL- Madison Wymer came the ballpark and meant business on Friday, driving in four on three hits to lead Boardman past Cardinal Mooney 15-2 on Friday. Wymer drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a single in the sixth.

Boardman scored five runs in the sixth inning. Their offense in the inning came from singles by Madison Lester, Wymer, and Bella Eliser and a double by Cassidy Bryan.

Tori Strines was the winning pitcher for Boardman. Strines allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out six.

Caity Patterson took the loss for Cardinal Mooney. The pitcher surrendered 12 runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out six.

Boardman launched one home run on the day. Wymer put one out in the fourth inning.

The Spartans totaled 16 hits. Wymer, Nadia Rawhneh, Jenna Olexa, Eliser, Bryan, Lester, and Sofia Hoffman all managed multiple hits. Wymer led with three hits in four at bats. Boardman stole 11 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Dana Haus led the way with three.

Riley O’Neill went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Cardinal Mooney in hits.
