SOUTH RANGE TIES UP NE8 STANDINGS

South Range had no trouble on offense on Wednesday night, winning big over Poland 11-2

The Raiders got things started in the first inning when Billy Skripac’s sac fly scored one run.

South Range tallied five runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower was led by Smesko, Shane Lindstrom, Gaven Nagy, Nick Plunkett, and Skripac, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Skripac toed the rubber for the Raiders. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 11.

Matt Paparodis was on the pitcher’s mound for Poland Seminary. Paparodis went three and a third innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits and striking out two. Mike Gushura threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

South Range racked up 11 hits in the game. Skripac, Smesko, and Lindstrom each managed multiple hits. Lindstrom, Smesko, and Skripac each managed two hits to lead.

Paparodis went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Poland Seminary in hits.
