VALLEY TAKES HOME OPENING WIN

YOUNGSTOWN OH- With a bounce back 32 to 26 win against East Palestine, the Lady Eagles of Valley Christian looked to go back to back, but in their way were the Lady Blue Devils of Lisbon who were coming off of a big 54 to nine loss against the Columbiana Clippers and were hungry for a turnaround.

The first half saw both defenses show up as it was a back and forth Lady to Lady defense clogging every hole that opened.  Kyiel Turner led the pack in the first half for Valley Christian with 10 points while on the Lady Blue Devils side it was Tabby Ketchum with five as it was now 19 to 12.

Meanwhile in the second half, that was when both teams started their fast pace scoring offense.  Turner once again scored 10 points in the second half, eight in the fourth after a slow third quarter on her end.  D’Andra Tensley meanwhile scored seven points while she only had five in the first.

With one of Lisbon’s best players in Parker Henthorne fouling out, it was Ketchum and Cami Freeland stepping up and keeping the pace for a while, cutting the lead down to eight at one point.  However, that was the closest they would cut the lead to as the Lady Eagles held on and pulled away, winning by the final of 42 to 30.
