WHITING WIPES OUT DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting got into the win column on Tuesday night’s Class B action in the 16IU division with a solid 7-3 win over Dura Edge.

Nick Perrotto was a big contributor to Whiting’s offense going 2-3 with 3 RBI. Corbin Sevcik went 1-2 with 2 RBI to add to the Whiting production. Nathan Craig went 1-2 with 2 runs scored.

Mitch Lang was credited with the win on the mound. He threw 1 inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 3.

Marco Massucci had a good day for Dura Edge. He went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He also punched in a RBI. Ryan Telesz went 1-4 with a RBI. Nick Leasure went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Telesz picked up the loss for Dura Edge. He pitched 1 inning and gave up 3 runs on 1 hit.

AVALANCHE COME BACK ON BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- It was a back and forth tug of war matchup on Tuesday night in 16U Class B action between Avalanche and Ballistic Baseball. Avalanche took an early 4-1 lead, but then Ballistic took it back 5-4. After Ballistic added one more in the 6th, Avalanche struck for 3 runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good 7-6.

Julian Trott went 1-2 for Avalanche with a RBI. Lucas Cummings went 1-1 with a RBI on the day. Keegan Balla also collected a RBI for the Avalanche’s offense.

Hatden Scarnack picked up the win for the Avalanche as he threw a scoreless 7th after the lead was secured.

Mathew Lindsey went 1-3 while knocking in 2 runs for Ballistic. Tommy Groner had a perfect day at the plate going 1-1 with a walk and a run scored. He also collected a RBI.

Dustin Coss pitched 4 innings for Ballistic. He threw 4 innings and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits. He walked a pair.

FALCONS BRING THE THUNDER

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcon offense was rocking on Sunday against Whiting Roll-Offs. The bats were as hot as the temperatures outside, the Falcons cruised to a 17-7 victory.

There was plenty of good bats for the Falcons on Sunday, but Dom Cubellis really stood out going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Drew Kaschak went 2-2 with 3 runs scored 2 walks and a RBI. Anthony Triveri went 2-4 with a RBI. Luca Ricchiuti went 1-2 with 2 runs scored a walk, and 2 RBI.

Jay Campbell took the win on the mound for the Falcons. He last 2.1 IP giving up 7 ER on 5 H. He struck out a pair and walked 5.

Ben Herman was very productive at the plate for Whiting. He went 1-2 with a walk and a runs scored, and he knocked in 3 RBI. Mitch Lang also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He drove in a pair. Owen Keister went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

Keister was hit with the loss on the hill for Whiting. He threw 1.2 innings and gave up 5 runs on 5 hits. He struck out a batter and walked 3.

BALLISTIC STRIKES HARD AT EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH-

Eagle Wear fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-0 loss to Ballistics on Sunday.

Eagle Wear struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Ballistic, giving up 12 runs.

Ballistics got things moving in the first inning, when Dennis Fedele’s wild pitch allowed one run to score.

A single by Alex Zordich in the first inning was a positive for 16u.

Tommy Groner led things off on the mound for Ballistics. The ace allowed one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Fedele toed the rubber for Eagle Wear. The hurler surrendered seven runs on four hits over two and a third innings, striking out four. Evan Gilson threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.

Zordich went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Eagle Wear in hits. Eagle Wear didn’t commit a single error in the field. Fedele had one chances in the field, the most on the team.

Ballistics collected eight hits. Colby Lewis racked up multiple hits going 2-3 to lead.

CREEKSIDE COMES OUT ON TOP IN PITCHER’S DUEL WITH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Scoring was at a premium on Friday night in 16U Class B action between Creekside and Avalanche. Creekside got the clutch scoring and managed to win 2-1.

Payton Zupko went 1-3 for Creekside. He scored a run and tacked on a RBI. Kaden Anthony went 1-4 with a RBI as well. Jack Davis got Creekside’s third hit of the day going 1-4.

Alex Nicholson went the distance on the rubber for Creekside. He pitched all 8 innings and only gave up 1 hit. He didn’t give up any free passes, or earned runs, and he struck out 6.

Julian Trott got Avalanche’s only hit of the day. He went 1-3. Avalanche’s only run was scored by Peyton Koss.

Richie Preston went toe to toe with Creekside pitching well on the mound. He threw 6 innings and gave up 1 ER on 2 H. He struck out 9 and walked 3.

DURA EDGE HOLDS DOWN BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge pitching was on point Friday night as they kept Ballistic’s offense scoreless in a big 8-0 win in Class B action.

Mitch Garvin had a strong night hitting for Dura Edge. He went 2-3 with a RBI.  Marco Massucci also had a multiple hit night going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Nick Leasure gathered 3 hits going 3-4 with 2 runs scored.

Sal Mineo went 6 innings on the mound for Dura Edge and earned the win. He didn’t allow a single run, and only gave up a hit. He also struck out 8 batters and walked just 1.

Tyler Cunningham had a hit for Ballistic going 1-2 on the day.  Tommy Groner went 1-3.

Cameron Foy was given the loss on the hill. He went 3 innings giving up 6 ER on 9 H. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

CREEKSIDE CAPS OFF STRONG WIN OVER KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH-

Creekside scored three runs early, and was able to hold off a strong rally to beat out Knightline on Thursday 5-3.

Andrew Sallipo went 1-1 on the day for Creekside with 1 run scored, 1 walk, and a RBI.  Paul Connelly was also productive at the plate going 1-2 with a run scored a walk and a RBI. Jack Davis went 1-3 with a run scored.

Kaiden Anthony got the win on the rubber for Creekside. He went 2 innings and didn’t allow a single run on just 2 hits. Anthony struck out 3 and didn’t walk a batter.

Chance Laczko was clutch for Knightline and had multiple hits on the day. He went 2-3, with a walk. Ryan DiLullo also had multiple hits going 2-4 with a RBI. Aiden Thompson went 1-4 with a RBI.

Bronson Ferencak got stuck with the loss for Knightline. He gave up 4 hits and 5 ER in 4 innings pitched. He struck out 1 and walked 3.

BALLISTIC SNEAKS AWAY FROM PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic pulled away with a highly contested win on Thursday in a high scoring affair with Prospects 8-7.

Mathew Lindsey went 2-4 for Ballistic with a run scored and 2 RBI. Brady Harmon had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2 with 3 runs scored. He walked once and drove in a RBI. Tyler Cunningham also went without being retired. He went 1-1 with 2 walks and a RBI.

Harman was given the win for Ballistic. He threw 2 innings and gave up 1 ER on 2 H. He recorded the only strike out of the day for Ballistic’s pitching staff.

Jack Kenney had a strong day on offense for Prospects. He went 2-3 on the day with 2 runs scored. He knocked in 2 RBI. Jack Lephemer went 2-3 as well with 2 RBI. He scored a run. Andrew Kirilla went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Evan Tice went 2-4 with a run scored.

Olindo Pezzone took the loss on the mound. He threw 2 innings giving up 2 ER on 2 H. He struck out 1 and walked 2.

AVALANCHE FINISHES STRONG TO ROLL OVER ATHLETICS

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche scored 8 runs in the final two innings to smite A2Z Athletics on Thursday night in Class B Action.

Peyton Koss went 2-4 at the dish for the Avalanche. He knocked in a RBI and scored a run. Reese Henderson went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Keegan Balla didn’t record a hit, but did manage to get credited with 2 RBI. Jake Mattocks went 1-3.

Balla was credited with the win for Avalanche on the mound. He threw one inning and gave up 1 earned run and 0 hits. He struck out two and walked two.

Johnny Cambert led the Athletics with 2 RBI on a 1-2 day. He also walked and scored a run. CJ Frasco went 1-3 with a RBI. Gabe Saunders walked once and scored a pair of runs.

Brendan Ray took the loss for the Athletics. He threw 2 innings on the mound. Ray gave up 0 ER on 3 H. He struck out 3 and walked none.

WHITING PUTS A HURT ON EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting Roll-Offs flexed their muscles on Thursday night against Eagle Wear. Great pitching added with a blistering offense equaled a 11-1 victory for Whiting.

Whiting got a lot of production of Mitch Lang who went 1-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored. He also knocked in 3 RBI. Grant Melder may not have recorded a hit, but he did get credited with 2 RBI, and a walk. Ben Miller went 1-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Whiting totaled 9 walks on the day.

Melder also pitched extremely well on the bump. He went 5 IP and only gave up 1 hit. He was not charged with any runs. He struck out 9 and walked 2.

 

Nolan Padinsky went 1-2 on the day for Eagle Wear. Jakob Wallace went 1-3. Sam Barber scored the only run of the day for Eagle Wear.

Ethan Santillo was given the loss for Eagle Wear. He threw 3 innings while giving up 3 ER on 6 H. He struck out 4 and walked 2.
