FALCONS OUTSWING DURA EDGE

Dura Edge out-hit Astro Falcons 11 to six, but it wasn’t enough in an 11-7 loss on Thursday

Astro Falcons opened up scoring in the first inning, when Bo Fornataro’s sac fly scored one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Dura Edge tied things up at one. Joe Babusci drove in one when Babusci singled.

Astro Falcons pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Drew Kaschak singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run and Jay Wrona doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Dura Edge put up five runs in the sixth inning. Their big bats were led by Mitch Garvin, Blake Jefferies, Nick Leasure, and Babusci, all driving in runs in the frame.

Astro Falcons scored six runs in the fourth inning. Wrona, Luca Richiutti, and Fornataro all drove in runs in the frame.

Sean Kristopliel earned the victory on the mound for Astro Falcons. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero. Kaschak and Fornataro entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Fornataro recorded the last out to earn the save.

Evan Levkulich took the loss for Dura Edge. The pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over two innings, striking out two.

Dura Edge racked up 11 hits on the day. Leasure, Babusci, and A J Verdi all managed multiple hits. Leasure led with three hits in three at bats.

DURA EDGE DEMOLISHES KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge had one heck of a day on Tuesday getting production at the plate, and solid pitching in a 14-3 rout of Knightline.

Nick Kingerski was near unstoppable for Dura Edge. He went an eye popping 4-5 with 2 RBI. He also scored 3 runs. Mason Ludwig drove in the most runs going 2-4 with 3 RBI. He also crossed the plate a pair of times. James Zugai matched Ludwig’s 3 RBI going 1-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Jack Beneigh was credited with the win on the bump for Dura Edge. He threw 3 innings and gave up 2 ER on 4 H. He struck out 5 and walked 1.

Aiden Thompson went 1-3 for Knightline with a run scored and a RBI. Tyler Mikulin went 2-3 with a RBI. He was the only hitter for Knightline to record multiple hits.

Ryan DiLullo was given the loss on the mound. He went 3 innings giving up 9 ER on 7 H. He struck out 4 and walked 4.

WHITING PREVAILS IN TIGHT GAME WITH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Offense was at a premium on Tuesday night between Whiting Roll-Offs and Avalanche. A 2 run 5th inning was the difference for Whiting as they squeezed out a 3-2 win.

Nate Thomas was the only Whiting hitter with multiple hits. He went 2-3 with a RBI. Ben Miller went 1-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Jake Peterson went 1-3 with a RBI. 6 different hitters for Whiting worked a walk.

Peterson pitched well for Whiting and earned the win. He went 6 innings on the hill and gave up 1 ER on 6 H. Peterson struck out 4 and walked 4.

Peyton Koss gave Avalanche some production at the plate. He went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI. Keegan Balla went 2-3 with a RBI. Reese Henderson went 1-2 with a walk.

Richie Preston got tagged with the loss on the mound for Avalanche. He threw 4 innings, giving up 1 ER on 2 H. He struck out a hitter and walked 3.

A2Z ROUTS BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- Offense was not a problem on Tuesday night for either team, but it was A2Z that shined the brightest scoring 13 runs on 12 hits to run away from Ballistic 13-6.

Gabe Saunders had a monster night with the bat going 3-5 with 3 RBI. He also scored a pair of runs. CJ Frasco also went 3-5 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Pj Scott went 2-3 with a walk and 3 runs scored. Scott knocked in a RBI.

Logan Baxter picked up the win on the mound for the Athletics. He went 3 IP, giving up 1 ER on 3 H. He struck out 6 and also walked only 1.

Donavan Bell- Sullavin went 1-3 for Ballistic with 2 RBI. Luke Leonard went 2-3 with a RBI. TJ Border also went 2-3 with a RBI, he also scored a run.

Tommy Groner was given the loss for Ballistic. He was one of 4 pitchers to throw in the game. Groner went 2 innings giving up 1 ER on 3 H. He struck out a hitter and walked 2.

LATE ASTRO RUNS ENOUGH TO HOLD OFF CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons scored 3 runs in the 5th inning, which turned out to be huge in their 7-5 win over Creekside on Tuesday night.

Bo Fornataro went 2-3 on the night with a RBI and 3 runs scored. He also worked a walk. Mark Pieto also had a multiple hit night going 2-3. Jake Schneider went 1-2 with a run scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Shawn Kristophel also gathered an RBI on a 1-3 day.

Schneider got the win on the mound for the Falcons. He went 5 innings and gave up 2 ER on 6 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 0. Kolton Ruark pitched an inning of relief and gave up 2 ER on 1 H.

For Creekside Shane Lindstrom went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a walk. He also had a RBI. Jameson Beck went 1-4 with a RBI. Devin Gruver did not record a hit, but did gather a RBI.

Jordan McCartney got the start on the bump for Creekside. He went 4 innings giving up 7 ER on 10 H. He struck out one.

WHITING DIALS UP WALK-OFF OVER AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- The Whiting Roll-Offs have really developed a taste for the dramatic finishes as of late, and on July 5th, they served up their own grand finale with a comeback win over rival Avalanche 6-5.

Tyler Kamerer delivered a 2-3 game on offense that included an RBI to lead Whiting at the plate.  Dante Micaletti, Josh Pallerino, and Mitch Lang all drove in runners as well.  Micaletti and Jackson Gruber snuck a bag on the basepaths as well.

Eddie Lutton was credited for the victory going 3 innings and giving up 2 runs (1 earned) while striking out a pair and walking 3.  Pallerino started the contest and went 4 frames giving up 3 runs while striking down a trio as well.

For the Avs, Tim West inherits the loss in the last inning giving up a pair of runs, neither of which were earned.  Jake Mattocks shouldered the load on the mound with 4 innings pitched, and striking out 3 while giving up 4 (2 earned.)

Offensively, Mattocks, DJ Donatelli, and Lucas Cummings drove in runs for Avalanche.  Julian Trott was 1-3 with a walk and stole a pair of bags.
