ASTRO A CUT ABOVE EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons had zero trouble on Wednesday night in 16U Class B action. They blasted their way to an impressive 19-2 win.

Dom Fornataro had a great day at the dish going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Shawn Kristophel also went 3-4 with 2 runs scored. He knocked in 1 RBI.  Seth Cervello was the most productive bat in the lineup going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.  Michael Patellis went 2-3 a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Drew Kaschak got plenty of run support but still pitched well for the Falcons. He went 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 1.

Sam Castronova was a bright spot for Eagle Wear. He went 1-1 with a RBI. Sam Barber also went 1-1 with a walk. JD Memo went 1-2 with a run scored. Evan Gilson mirrored those numbers.

CREEKSIDE CRASHES THE PARTY AGAINST ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside needed every ounce of their offensive light on Wednesday night as they found themselves in a slugfest with Athletix. Creekside was able to come away with a 13-8 win.

Jack Davis was a problem on offense. He went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.  He knocked in 2 RBI.  Danny Flynn also had a strong night going 1-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.  Payton Zupko went 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and a RBI.  Andrew Salupo was the most productive bat in the lineup going 2-4 with 3 RBI.

Jordan McCartney got the win for Creekside. He threw 3 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 1 hit. He struck out 1.

Luke Gehring went 2-3 for the Athletix with a walk and a run scored. Gabe Saunders went 1-3 with 2 runs scored, 1 walk, and 1 RBI.  Dustin Smith went 1-3 with 2 runs scored.

Gehring took the loss on the hill for the Athletix. He went 2 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits.  He struck out 1.

ATHLETICS GRAB A CLOSE ONE OVER KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Athletix found themselves in the closest Class B game of the night as they were able to nab a tight one over Knightline 7-6.

Andrew Kali was impressive at the plate for Athletix. He went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. He also walked, and hit in a RBI. CJ Frasco went 2-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Dylan Casey went 2-4 as well, he scored 2 runs and collected a RBI.

Frasco got the win on the hill for Athletix. He went 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 2 hits. He struck out 3.

Aaron Doughty went 1-3 with a run scored for Knightline. He also had a RBI. Aiden Thompson mimicked those numbers going 1-3 with a run scored. He walked as well.

Ryan DiLullo was credited with the loss for Knightline. He threw 2 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out a hitter.

DURA EDGE PUTS DOWN PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge and Prospects both pitched well in Tuesday night’s Class B action. Dura Edge scored 2 in the first, and that would be enough. Adding an insurance run later, they beat Prospects 3-1.

Ryan Telesz went 1-3 on the day with a RBI. Nick Leasure went 1-2 with a walk. Mason Ludwig went 1-3 with a run scored. Joseph Bobusci also went 1-3 with a run scored.

Ludwig was able to grab the win as well on the mound. He went 6 innings and gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He set down 5 on strikes.

Jack Lephemer was strong at the dish for Prospects. He went 1-2 with a RBI. Olindo Pezzone went 1-3 with a run scored. Caleb Hadley went 1-2 with a walk.

Lephemer was a tough luck loser, pitching well in 7 innings. He gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits. Lephemer struck out a solid 11 hitters on the night.

AVALANCHE OFFENSE RUNS AWAY FROM EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche had zero troubles scoring on Tuesday night in Class B 16U action. Their bats were alive and well in a 18-6 win over Eagle Wear.

Richie Preston drove in the most runs for the Avalanche offense. He went 1-3 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Reese Henderson was on fire going 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. DJ Donatelli went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI. Julian Trott went 2-2 with 3 runs scored and a RBI. Peyton Koss went 1-2 and tied the team lead in RBI with 3.

Aiden Bowser picked up the win toeing the rubber for Avalanche. He went 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and striking out 4.

Eagle Wear still had a solid offensive output. He went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Alex Zordich went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

Eagle Wear pitchers did combine for 8 strike outs on the night.

FALCONS BLOW AWAY BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- It was all Astro Falcons on Tuesday in 16U Class B action. They hit and pitched at top level in a 11-0 whooping of Ballistic Baseball.

Jay Michael-Wrona was the big bat for the Falcons going 2-3 with 3 RBI. He also scored a run. Luca Ricchiuti had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2 with 3 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI. Seth Cervello also went 2-2 at the plate with a walk, 2 runs scored, and a RBI.

Jay Campbell threw a gem on the hill for the Falcons. He threw a complete 5 innings, giving up 0 runs on 3 hits and striking out 6.

TJ Border went 1-1 on the day for Ballistic.  Tyler Cunningham, and Colby Lewis both went 1-2 on the day. They both stole a base as well.

Dustin Coss took the loss on the mound for Ballistic he went 2 innings and was charged with 7 runs. He struck out a batter.

CREEKSIDE STRONG ARMS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Class B action resumed this week, and Creekside hit the ground running blowing out Whiting Roll-Offs 8-0.

Payton Zupko was very productive at the plate for Creekside going 1-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Alex Nicholson also knocked in a pair of RBI. Paul Connelly went 2-3 with 3 runs scored him and Jack Davis were  the only Creekside hitter to grab multiple hits, Davis went 2-5.

Nicholson got the win on the mound for Creekside going 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. He struck out a pair.

Braden Zegler went 1-2 for the struggling Whiting offense. Nate Thomas went 1-3, and so did Grant Melder.  Braeden D’Angelo walked twice in 3 at bats.

Shawn Miller was pegged with the loss for Whiting. He went 2 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. 3 of those runs were earned. Miller struck out 3.

FALCONS WALK OFF AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- It was a pitcher’s duel on tap on Wednesday in Class B action. Astro Falcons and Avalanche found themselves tied at 1 in the 7th but the Falcons were able to walk it off 2-1.

Kolten Ruark went 1-2 with a RBI for the Falcons offense. Michael Patellis also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Jake Schneider had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI. Bo Fornataro went 1-3 with a run scored.

Ruark was rewarded with a win for the Falcons. He threw 3 innings of no hit baseball. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Richie Preston had a perfect day at the plate for Avalanche. He went 1-1 with a walk and a RBI. Jake Mattocks and Peyton Koss both went 1-3.

Preston pitched well despite being tagged with the loss for Avalanche. He went 6 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits. He struck out 3.

CREEKSIDE STOMPS EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside was on a tear on Tuesday night and nothing Eagle Wear could do would stop them. Creekside blasted their way to a 13-2 win in 16U class B action.

Johnny Leedham swung the big lumber for Creekside on the night. He went 2-5 with 3 RBI. Dylan Barrett didn’t record a hit but did manage to grab 2 RBI.  Danny Flynn went 2-3 with 1 RBI.  Alex Nicholson went 1-1 with a run scored, a walk, and a RBI.

Creekside got a good night from their pitchers along with their offense.  Gabe Smith got the win throwing 2 innings and giving up 1 run on no hits. He struck out 4 and walked 2. The pitching staff for Creekside only gave up 2 hits combined.

Alex Zordich got one of those hits for Creekside going 1-3. He also picked up a RBI.  Evan Gilson went 1-1 at the plate as well.  Jakob Wallace walked twice, and so did Avery Maley.

Sam Castronova got hit with the loss for Eagle Wear. He went 3 innings giving up 3 runs and 3 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 4.

FALCONS WASTE NO TIME BEATING KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH-It was all about the Astro Falcons on Tuesday night as they dominated Knightline 11-1 in their 16U Class B showdown.

Bo Fornatado was productive at the plate for the Falcons going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Jake Schneider went 1-2 with a walk a run scored and a RBI. Shawn Kristophel went 1-1 with a walk a run scored and a RBI.

Jaden Rishel was given the win on the rubber for the Falcons. He pitched 5 innings giving up 1 run on 7 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2.

Tyler Capan had a nice day at the plate for Knightline. He went 2-3 with a RBI. Santino Cambotti went 1-2 with a run scored.

Aaron Daughty took the loss on the hill for Knightline. He threw 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. He also struck out 3.
