A2Z ROUTS BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- Offense was not a problem on Tuesday night for either team, but it was A2Z that shined the brightest scoring 13 runs on 12 hits to run away from Ballistic 13-6.

Gabe Saunders had a monster night with the bat going 3-5 with 3 RBI. He also scored a pair of runs. CJ Frasco also went 3-5 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Pj Scott went 2-3 with a walk and 3 runs scored. Scott knocked in a RBI.

Logan Baxter picked up the win on the mound for the Athletics. He went 3 IP, giving up 1 ER on 3 H. He struck out 6 and also walked only 1.

Donavan Bell- Sullavin went 1-3 for Ballistic with 2 RBI. Luke Leonard went 2-3 with a RBI. TJ Border also went 2-3 with a RBI, he also scored a run.

Tommy Groner was given the loss for Ballistic. He was one of 4 pitchers to throw in the game. Groner went 2 innings giving up 1 ER on 3 H. He struck out a hitter and walked 2.

ATHLETICS GRAB WIN IN TIGHT BATTLE WITH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- A2Z Athletics was able to secure a close win over Avalanche on Monday night in a 3-2 win.

Ty Ventresco went 1-3 with a walk and a RBI for Athletics. Michael Nittoli had a perfect day at the plate going 1-1 with a RBI. Malakai Roberts went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Steven Zordich got the start for Athletics on the mound. He went 3 IP gave up 0 runs on 2 H. He struck out 2 and walked 1. Roberts, and Nate Ostas both pitched in relief.

Logan Ayres led the offense for the Avalanche. He went 2-4 with the team’s only 2 RBI. Hayden McLaughlin went 1-1 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Mason Jones pitched the bulk of the work for the Avalanche. He went 6 IP and gave up 2 ER on 2 H. He struck out 8 and walked 5.

A2Z 14U CELEBRATES OPENING DAY IN A BIG WAY

STRUTHERS, OH- A2Z cruised to an easy victory over Eaglewear 12-1 on Saturday.  A2Z got things started in the first inning when Giovanni Valentine singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Noah Anzevino was on the pitcher’s mound for A2Z. The right-hander lasted five innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five.

Rocco Diflorio started the game for Eaglewear. The pitcher went one inning, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out one. Mason Nawrocki threw three innings in relief.

Valentine went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead A2Z in hits. A2Z was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hunter Wilson had the most chances in the field with five. A2Z stole 15 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Logan Lyons led the way with four.

Dylan Smith led Eaglewear with three hits in three at-bats. Eaglewear was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.

WHITING HANDLES A2Z AND ADVANCES

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z lost the lead late in a 12-6 defeat to Whiting Roll-Offs on Sunday. Whiting trailed 5-4 in the top of the fifth inning when Ben Miller tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

Despite the loss, A2Z did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Whiting had 16 hits on the way to victory.

A2Z captured the lead in the second inning.  They scored one run on a stolen base.

In the bottom of the third inning, A2Z tied things up at four when an error scored one run.

A2Z put up three runs in the second inning.  A2Z big bats in the inning were led by a single by Matt Paparodis and a sacrifice fly by Braden Adams.

Whiting scored four runs in the seventh inning.  The big inning came thanks to a triple by Grant Melder, a single by Nick Thomas, and a double by Corbin Sevcik.

Connor Davis earned the victory on the mound for Whiting. He allowed six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three.

Joe Aey took the loss for A2Z. He surrendered four runs on six hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

A2Z tallied 11 hits.  Paparodis, Aiden Thompson, and Danny Nittoli all managed multiple hits.  Nittoli, Thompson, and Paparodis all had two hits to lead. 

Whiting racked up 16 hits.  Melder, Sevcik, Miller, and Owen Keister each collected multiple hits.

WHITING HOLDS ON AGAINST A2Z

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z effort to come back from down nine runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 9-8 to Whiting Roll-Offs on Saturday.  A2Z put up seven runs in the failed comeback. Blake Jeffries, Carson Bish,  Matt Paparodis, Joe Aey, Chris Denney, and Aiden Thompson all picked up RBIs in the rally.

A2Z fell behind early in the loss.  Whiting took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Whiting fired up the offense in the first inning.  Grant Melder singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

A2Z notched six runs in the sixth inning.  Their big bats were led by Jeffries, Bish, Paparodis, and Aey, all driving in runs in the frame.

Whiting scored six runs in the fifth inning.  Their big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Nate Thomas and Grayson Hooks and doubles by Ben Miller and Corbin Sevcik.

Joey Pugh earned the win for Whiting. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.  

Jeffries took the loss for A2Z. He allowed four hits and three runs over three and a third innings, striking out three.

A2Z tallied six hits in the game.  Aey and Matt Boccieri each managed multiple hits.  Boccieri and Aey each collected two hits to lead.

Whiting collected seven hits on the day.  Melder and Miller each had multiple hits.

A2Z PITCHES THEIR WAY TO NEXT ROUND

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z defeated Creekside Fitness 5-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Joe Aey induced a fly out from Michael Patellis to finish off the game.

A2Z got things moving in the first inning.  Chris Denney drove in one when he singled.

A2Z tallied three runs in the sixth inning.  The batters contributing to the big inning included Carson Bish and Tyler Canfield, all knocking in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for Creekside was a single by Carmine White in the seventh inning.

Aiden Thompson got the win for A2Z. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out eight.  Aey threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Aey recorded the last six outs to earn the save for A2Z.

Brady Loew took the loss for   Creekside Fitness. He allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two.

Danny Nittoli, Blake Jeffries, Denney, Bish, and Matt Boccieri each collected one hit to lead A2Z.

White led Creekside with one hit in two at bats.

CREEKSIDE FORCES DECISIVE GAME 3

STRUTHERS OH-

Thursday was a long day for A2Z, falling to   Creekside Fitness 12-2.

Creekside pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning.  In the third Carson Bish induced Jacob Werner to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Sam Castronova drew a walk, scoring one run, Donovan Bell-sullivan doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Dylan Sheeley doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Castronova earned the victory on the hill for Creekside. He allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three.  

Bish took the loss for A2Z. He allowed three hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Aiden Thompson led A2Z with two hits in two at bats.  

Creekside collected ten hits on the day.  Werner, Tyson Tarajack, and Tyler Mikulin all managed multiple hits.

A2Z CARRIES HOT STREAK INTO POSTSEASON

A2Z won game 1 against   Creekside Fitness on Wednesday,  6-2

A2Z put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Their offense in the inning was led by Matt Boccieri, Chris Denney, and Blake Jeffries, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Matt Paparodis was credited with the victory for A2Z. He surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five.  

Alex Stowe took the loss for   Creekside. He surrendered two runs on two hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Aiden Thompson, Jeffries, Paparodis, Boccieri, and Braden Adams all had one hit to lead A2Z.

Donovan Bell-Sullivan led   Creekside Fitness 14U with two hits in two at bats.

A2Z KEEPS THE WIN TRAIN ROLLING

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where A2Z came out on top against CSA 14-6.

A2Z fired up the offense in the first inning.  Aiden Thompson grounded out, scoring one run.

CSA evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning.  An error scored one run.

A2Z pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second an error scored one run.

A2Z notched four runs in the fourth inning.  Their big bats were led by Danny Nittoli, Blake Jeffries, and Carson Bish, all knocking in runs in the inning.

CSA scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Gavin Richmond and Jacob Wallace each drove in runs during the inning.

Hunter Swidzinski led the A2Z to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out two and walking one. 

Noah Adamson took the loss for CSA. He allowed seven hits and 12 runs over four innings, striking out one.

A2Z hit one home run on the day. Jeffries had a homer in the third inning.

A2Z collected 12 hits.  Boccieri, Jeffries, and Hayden Pavlock all managed multiple hits.  Pavlock, Jeffries, and Boccieri each managed two hits to lead A2Z. 

CSA scattered 12 hits in the game.  Andrew Brown, Wallace, and Richmond each racked up multiple hits.  Brown went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

A2Z CONTINUES TO SHINE

STRUTHERS OH-

Both offenses were strong in A2Z’s 11-7 victory over Creekside .

In the first inning, Creekside got their offense started.  Tyson Tarajack singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, A2Z tied things up at five when Matt Boccieri doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

After Creekside scored one run in the top of the fifth, A2Z answered with one of their own.  Creekside scored when an error scored one run.  A2Z then answered when Carson Bish singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

A2Z pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.  In the third Matt Paparodis singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

A2Z notched five runs in the second inning.  They put the pressure on, led by singles by Paparodis, Braden Adams, and Danny Nittoli and a double by Boccieri.

Creekside scored three runs in the second inning.  Donovan Bell-Sullivan and Dylan Sheeley each drove in runs during the inning.

Parker Dobson earned the victory on the mound for A2Z. He surrendered two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out four.

Jacob Werner took the loss for Creekside. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while walking one.

A2Z had 16 hits in the game.  Chris Denney, Bish, Paparodis, Jeffries, Adams, and Nittoli all managed multiple hits.  Denney went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead A2Z in hits.  

Creekside racked up ten hits on the day.  Tarajack and Sheeley all managed multiple hits for Creekside.
