PRESIDENTS MEMORIAL TROPHY STAYS IN JACKSON MILTON

NORTH JACKSON OH- The rivalry game got heated Friday between Western Reserve and Jackson Milton. Emotions seemed at stake for every call. The Presidents Memorial trophy goes to the team that wins the second matchup between the Blue Devils and Blue Jays. Last season, the trophy went to the Jays, and this season it was no different. After trailing by four at half, Jackson Milton fought back to win by four 46-42.

Mason Robison led the Blue Jays with 10 points. The Senior is now 9 points away from the 1,000 milestone. Cole Grope was behind him scoring 9 for the Blue Jays. Frank Prozy and AJ Bouch both contributed 8.

David Ashburn paced the Blue Devils with 9 points. Ryan Gordon, and Noah Klasic both added 8 for the Devils.

Jackson Milton will return to action Tuesday hosting Columbiana. Western Reserve will also return home to host Waterloo.

JACKSON MILTON CONQUERS VIKINGS

ATWATER OH- The last time Waterloo and Jackson Milton met, it was an overtime thriller that went the way of the Blue Jays. Jackson Milton had no thoughts of overtime this time around though as they ran away from Waterloo to a 76-56 win.

Kylie Wilson was on fire tonight as she nailed 6 threes on her way to a 3: point performance. Ava Darney made things just as difficult in the post racking up 15 points. Chelsea Williams was also in double figures with 13 points.

Brooke Waldeck continued her impressive season with a 26 point performance. Kaira English contributed a solid 13 points to the Vikings offense. Rose Couts was also in double figures with 11 points.

Jackson Milton is scheduled to host Lisbon on Thursday. Waterloo will play a double header on Saturday as they’ll play Firestone at noon, and they’ll play Sebring at 6. Both games at Waterloo.

BLUE JAYS TOO MUCH FOR RIDGE

A big 3rd period helped Jackson-Milton pull away from Mineral Ridge 64-49. The Blue Jays outscored the Rams 19-10 in the 3 quarter.

A.J.Bouch paced the Blue Jays with 18 points and his teammates Frank Prozy and Mason Robinon each dropped in 14 points.

For the Rams Mo Clark had 15 points.

VULETICH JOINS 1000 REBOUND CLUB

BERLIN CENTER OH- Last season, Dani Vuletich notched her 1,000th Point, and Thursday night she had another milestone to reach. Coming in to the game against Jackson Milton, Vuletich needed 12 rebounds to get to 1,000. She secured 14 on the night, and the Blue Devils won 54-33.

Vuletich led all scorers with 28 points to go along with her 14 rebounds. Brooke Schantz finished in double figures as well with 10 points.

The Blue Jays were led by Chelsea Williams with 11 points.

Western Reserve looks ahead to a rematch with McDonald on the road on Saturday. Jackson Milton will travel to Waterloo on Thursday.

SPRINGFIELD SURVIVES SCARE FROM BLUE JAYS

NORTH JACKSON OH- The last time Springfield played Jackson Milton, it was a smooth 19 point victory for the Tigers. But Friday night in the Blue Jays nest on homecoming night, it was a much different story. The Tigers had to fight and claw their way to a 56-50 victory over Jackson Milton.

It eas a slow start for Springfield, they found themselves down 13-4 in the first quarter, and trailed 13-6 at the end of the frame. As the game went on the Tigers slowly but surely chipped away at the Blue Jays lead. They trailed 26-22 at half, and finally got their first lead of the game in the third quarter, ending it with a 39-38 lead.

Adam Wharry led the Tigers with an impressive 24 points. Alex Rothwell was in double figures finishing with 11.  R.J Smith contributed 10 points to the Tigers cause.

The Blue Jays also had three players in double figures. They were led by Andrew Bouch who scored 16 points. Frank Prozy, and Gavin Sahli each totaled 10.

 

BLUE JAYS OVERCOME SLOW START

NORTH JACKSON OH- Jackson Milton’s offense took a while to get going on Thursday night against Mineral Ridge. After one quarter, they found themselves tied with the Rams at 8. Their struggles didn’t last for long as a 25 point second quarter boosted them to a 67-45 win.

Ava Darney was dominant for the Jays on the night scoring 23 points to lead the team. Camryn Mitchell our together a solid night scoring 13 points. Kylie Wilson and Chelsea Wiliams both added 12 to the Jackson Milton offense.

Candace Miller was a big bright spot for the Rams. She put in a 23 point performance. Courtney Boyer was also in double figures with 12 points.

Jackson Milton is slated to travel to Springfield on Saturday. The Rams will go out of conference and host Maplewood on Saturday.

BLUE JAYS HOLD OFF SEBRING

SEBRING OH- Despite out-scoring Jackson-Milton 21-9 in the final frame, it was just not enough as the Sebring Trojans dropped a 50-46 contest  Friday night to the Blue Jays. Leading the way for Jackson-Milton was Cole Johnson with 14 points followed by  Nick McGinnis with 12 points.

Sebring hit on 11 3-pointers and were led by Dylan Johnson 16 points Conner Shepherd scored 14 points. Sebring, 2-10, is at Kingsway Christian Saturday.

BLUE JAYS BOUNCE BACK

NORTH JACKSON OH- Chelsea Williams had a huge night with 28 points as her Jackson-Milton Blue Jays  dropped the Sebring Trojans 73-30.

After a close 1st quarter Jackson-Milton put the game away with a 21-3 2nd period.

Helping Williams out was teammates Kylie Wilson with 19 points and Ava Darner scoring 12 points. The Blue Jays record climbed to 5-4. Devyn Reggi led the visiting Trojans with 14 points.

KENEY GETS WIN 400

NORTH JACKSON OH- It was a milestone night for Jackson Milton head coach Pat Keney who picked up his 400th career win on Monday night as the Blue Jays defeated Springfield 50-46.

Chelsea Williams once again led the Blue Jays offense with 15 points. Kelsie Taylor was also in double figures with 12.

Jacey Mullen led Springfield with a game-High 19 points. Kylee Kosek contributed 11 points to keep the Tigers offense balanced.

The Blue Jays improve to 7-4 and will travel to McDonald on Thursday. Springfield will return home on Thursday and host Waterloo.

LIONS CELEBRATE BERTOVICH’S MILESTONE WITH WIN

COLUMBIANA OH- John Bertovich got to 1,000 points in Heartland’s last game against Crestview, but Heartland waited to celebrate it at home Tuesday night, and even better his team got a tightly contested win over Jackson Milton 61-58.

The Lions were led by Joey Donofrio who finished the night with 18 points. Bertovich finished with 17. Nate Garzanich collected 9 points.

The Blue Jays got an impressive performance from Mason Robinson who scored a game-high 27 points. AJ Bouch contributed 9 points to the Blue Jays offense.
