CARDS CELEBRATE SENIOR NIGHT WITH AN AAC VICTORY

CANFIELD, OH- The Canfield volleyball program celebrated the eight seniors for the Cardinals before last nights match against Howland. Canfield took that excitement to the floor and beat Howland in a very close match, 3-1. For the Cardinals, the seniors led the way as Abby Muckleroy dominated in the middle with 14 kills and 4 blocks. Muckleroy had some great sets by senior Riley Kinkade who had a total of 21 assists on the night. Defensively, senior Libero Parker Wilkins dug out 22 balls to lead the way.

The Cardinals won the match in 4 sets and improved to 13-7 on the season. The Cardinals have one more match on the road at Boardman next Tuesday. As for Howland, they drop to 15-6, and will host Austintown-Fitch next Tuesday at 7 P.M.

CARDS STAY ROLLING WITH A SWEEP OVER 224 RIVAL

POLAND, OH- The Canfield volleyball team continued its winning ways with a sweep in the battle of 224 over rival Poland. Canfield has now won 4 consecutive matches, and has won 12 sets in a row. The Cardinals took advantage in the rivalry game, as tonight will be the only match-up between Canfield and Poland this season.

The Cardinals were led by Isabella Bucciarelli who had 10 kills in the match. Middle Blocker Abby Muckleroy was a problem for Poland, blocking 7 balls throughout the 3 sets. Defensively, libero Parker Wilkins contributed 12 digs to lead the team.

For Poland, Sophia D’Angelo had 6 service points, while Madelyn Ray had 9 digs to lead the Bulldogs. Canfield has a tough test on Thursday, looking for revenge at Austintown Fitch. The Bulldogs will travel to Girard tomorrow, before facing Lakeview on Thursday.

We had a chance to talk to Canfield Head Coach Krista Nesbitt after tonight’s victory, here is what she had to say:

LAKEVIEW HAS WON 21 CONSECUTIVE SETS WITH SWEEP OVER CANFIELD

Canfield, OH- The Lakeview Bulldogs continue to terrorize opponents as they beat Canfield 3-0 on the road. The Bulldogs have won 21 consecutive sets dating back to August 30th, when they lost set one to Girard 25-18, before winning in 4 sets. Tonight against Canfield, Maggie Pavlansky put on a serving clinic scoring 17 service points, while also gathering 30 assists. Tara Lytle was also a force to be reckon with, killing 17 attacks. Defensively, Brooke Schneider dug out 15 balls to lead the Bulldogs defense.

Set 2: 25-12 Lakeview

Set 3: 25-11 Lakeview

Lakeview is 11-0 after the sweep, and will face Niles tomorrow night before facing Girard at home on Thursday night. Canfield will play Ursuline tomorrow, before facing Chaney at home on Thursday.
