COLUMBIANA FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH BOB SPAITE (EP 8)

It’s Week 10 in the OHSAA, and my goodness, we have an unbelievable matchup in Columbiana this week!  The arch-rival East Palestine Bulldogs make their way into town in one of the area’s top showdowns.

Can the Clippers rebound from a tough trip south to the Wigwam?  Can the traveling trophy find a home in Columbiana?

We’ll find out Friday at 7, but before you tune in, catch up with YSN’s Mark Franken and Coach Spaite in Columbiana Football Coach’s Corner (EP 8)

INSTA-GRAHAM

Columbiana Senior Jaden Graham has been known to show up when the Clippers are counting on him the most.  The standout defensive back has set the edge for the Clippers all season long and continues to show that the work he and his teammates have put into the offseason is paying off in 2018.

As the Clippers set up to battle in their season finale, our Mark Franken caught up with the speedster earlier this year to discuss what it’s like being able to have the weight of the world on his shoulders, and how he continues to come through time after time!

This week’s Columbiana Clippers Player Profile is: INSTA-GRAHAM

WAYNE’S WORLD

Simply put, Columbiana’s Wayne Davis is at the center of it all.  Both figuratively, and metaphorically.  The Clipper Senior is the anchor of the offensive line and leads by his example on and off the field.

Voted Co-Captain by his teammates, Davis has put in the time and the work to help keep the Clipper machine rolling!

Before the Clips take on East Palestine this week, catch up as YSN’s Mark Franken unveils our Columbiana Clipper Player Profile: WAYNE’S WORLD

CAN’T STOP HOP

The Columbiana Clippers are still on that roller coaster of the fall, starting out the season 0-3, the Clips have come back into playoff focus, and are now considered one of the most dangerous teams in the area.  Getting hot at the right time has its advantages, such as knowing what you need to get to week 11.

For Clipper Seniors, this is an all too familiar feeling.  They’ve been down this road, seen this movie, however you want to chalk it up, the Class of 2019 have been here before.  So, for Co-Captain Erik Hopfenziz, his dedication to success is spreading like wildfire in the locker room and on the field.  Hopfenziz is a multi-sport, multi-talented athlete who leads by example.  He is one of the most liked athletes not only for his performances but his sportsmanship as well.

Our Mark Franken caught up with Erik earlier this season and is featured for our Columbiana Clipper Player Profile: CAN’T STOP HOP

COLUMBIANA FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH BOB SPAITE (EP7)

After a big win last week over Wellsville, the Clippers are flying high on a three-game win streak.  Catching the altitude at the right time is what it’s all about, and Coach Spaite and the Clippers are doing just that.

The Clips will set up shop against Lisbon this week and try to burn the Devils and stay over over .500!

Are the playoffs within reach?  Do the Clippers have a focus on the week by week, or is it a direct glare at the playoff picture?

All that and more and some great questions from Mark Franken this week on Columbiana Football Coach’s Corner with Bob Spaite.

COLUMBIANA COACH’S CORNER WITH BOB SPAITE (EP 6)

After a big win last week over Toronto, the Clippers are flying high on a two-game win streak.  Catching the altitude at the right time is what it’s all about, and Coach Spaite and the Clippers are doing just that.

The Clips will set up shop at Wellsville this week and try to cage the Tigers and get over .500 for the first time this season!

How did Toronto force Columbiana to a “Plan C”?  Has there been a player that has risen to the occasion?

All that and more on this week’s Columbiana Football Coach’s Corner with Bob Spaite.

COLUMBIANA FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH BOB SPAITE (EP 5)

What a week it was for the Clippers!  A prime-time, OVERTIME thriller that ends up in a victory over the United Eagles in the Eagles Nest!  While entertaining as it can be, it can also play a part into the rest of the season with fatigue, injuries, and strategy.  Coach Spaite has the team recharged and ready to take on Toronto as close to 10% as they can be!

What does this week have in store for our Clippers?  Find out when YSN’s Mark Franken sits down for the fifth edition of Columbiana Coach’s Corner sponsored by Ben Hawkins Plumbing!

CLIPPER CAPTAIN LOOKS TO MAKE IMPACT FOR COLUMBIANA

Columbiana Senior Brandt Virden has been described as “The 125 Pound Brick Wall” and to some, it warrants a smile, but if you ask Virden- it’s a warning for his opposition.

The 5’4 Safety is coming off a shortened junior campaign with purpose, and style.  His teammates voted him a Co-Captain of this 2018 Clipper squad, and with that title comes major responsibility.

2018 has all the makings of a special year in Columbiana, and our Mark Franken caught up with Brandt for this week’s Cornerstone Trucks Columbiana Player Profile!

COLUMBIANA FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH BOB SPAITE (EP 4)

Have no worries, Clippers fans!  The Red and White are flying high again after their convincing win against Leetonia in Week 4.  Coach Spaite credits the victory to ball control and not turning over the pigskin, and looks to do the same this week to the Eagles of United.

This has all the makings for GAME OF THE WEEK with both teams playing for control of the EOAC early on in the season, and this game could have playoff ramifications as well when all is said and done.

Our Mark Franken checks in with Coach Spaite for this week’s Columbiana Coach’s Corner with Bob Spaite (EP 4.)
