LAKERS WAVE OF OFFENSE TOO MUCH FOR SPARTANS

Andover, OH- The Pymatuning Valley Lakers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kylie Luke tripled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Kendall Gray singled, scoring two runs.

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers scored 10 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. McKenna Jordan singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Mackenzie Kribbs doubled, scoring two runs, Nataleigh Haines doubled, scoring two runs, Luke singled, scoring one run, and Saige Payne tripled, scoring three runs.

A single by Isabella Limestoll extended the Pymatuning Valley Lakers’ lead to 16-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rylee Young singled, scoring one run, Macie Payne doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and an error scored one run. Kribbs earned the win for the Pymatuning Valley Lakers. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking four.

Alexis Brown took the loss for the Conneaut Spartans. The right-handed pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up 22 runs (five earned) on 13 hits, striking out three and walking four.

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers accumulated 13 hits in the game. Payne drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Pymatuning Valley Lakers with four runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day.

Payne, Allison Clark, and Luke each collected two hits for the Pymatuning Valley Lakers. Clark stole two bases.

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers stole five bases in the game. The Pymatuning Valley Lakers turned one double play in the game.

Maddy Drew and Vina Sanford each collected one hit for the Conneaut Spartans.

Sanford led the Conneaut Spartans with one run batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Ella Boriski stole two bases.

LAKERS WIN 2 STRAIGHT IN DOUBLE HEADER

Conneaut, OH- Despite an impressive performance by Bryce Spurlin, who struck out 11 batters, the Conneaut Spartans couldn’t secure a win against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers on Saturday at CLYO. Spurlin pitched a solid seven innings, allowing six hits and four runs while issuing three walks, but it wasn’t enough to stave off the Lakers’ offense.

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers took the lead in the fourth inning when A. Wludyga singled, bringing in one run and setting the tone for their offensive momentum.

Pitcher M. Smith was stellar for the Pymatuning Valley Lakers, pitching a complete game shutout. Smith’s dominant performance limited the Spartans to only four hits while striking out nine and walking four, effectively neutralizing Conneaut’s offense throughout the game.

Despite the loss, Spurlin led the Conneaut Spartans offensively with two hits in three at-bats, showcasing his skills both on the mound and at the plate. The Spartans managed to turn one double play during the game, showcasing their defensive prowess.

For the Pymatuning Valley Lakers, Smith contributed both on the mound and at the plate, driving in two crucial runs. Supporting Smith’s efforts were R. Croston, E. Sounds, A. Wludyga, CJ Karbacka, and L. Paul, each adding one hit to the Lakers’ offensive output.

Defensively, the Lakers displayed solidity, committing zero errors throughout the game. T. Vickey made the most plays with 10, contributing to the Lakers’ strong defensive performance.

Next up, the Conneaut Spartans will face the Harvey Raiders on Saturday in their upcoming game, looking to bounce back from this tough loss and regroup for their next challenge.
