PROSPECTS FORCE A THIRD GAME

STRUTHERS OH- With theit backs against the wall needing a win, the Prospects beat Creekside 8-4 to force a third game in the series. The Prospects scored 4 runs in the 6th inning while the game was tied at 4-4.

Olindo Pezzone notched an amazing day at the plate going 2-3 with 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI. He also walked. Jak Kenney also went 2-3 with 2 RBI. He walked as well. Alexander Stowe went without being retired going 1-1 with a walk and 2 RBI.

Pezzone was given the win on the mound going an inning for the Prosoects and didn’t give up a run on just one hit. He struck out the side. Cobey Airwyke pitched 4 innings with no earned runs on 1 hit. He struck out 3.

Shane Lindstrom went 1-2 on the day for Creekside with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Andrew Salupo walked twice with a RBI. Payton Zupko went 1-3 with a run scored.

Zupko was charged with the loss giving up 2 runs on 2 hits. He struck out 1, and walked 3.

CREEKSIDE PUTS AWAY OHIO TIGERS

STRUTHERS OH- Ohio Tigers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-2 loss to Creekside Fitness on Saturday. Creekside scored on a double by Johnny Leedham, a single by Nick Magnifico, a single by Payton Zupko, and a groundout by Andrew Salupo in the first inning.

The Ohio Tigers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Creekside, giving up 13 runs.

Creekside fired up the offense in the first inning. They drove in one when Leedham doubled.

Creekside Fitness scored seven runs in the second inning. Magnifico, Paul Connelly , Zupko, and Salupo each drove in runs during the inning.

Jordan McCartney led things off on the mound for Creekside Fitness. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

Chance Riggenbach toed the rubber for Ohio Tigers. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on eight hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Owen Fodor threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Fodor went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ohio Tigers in hits.

Creekside tallied 12 hits in the game. Zupko, Danny Flynn, and Magnifico all managed multiple hits. Zupko led with three hits in three at bats.

DIAMOND HIT CLUB SNEAKS ONE AWAY FROM CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH-

DHC Diamond Hit Club stole the lead late and defeated Creekside Fitness 5-4 on Friday in the second day of the NABF World Series. The game was tied at four with DHC Diamond Hit Club batting in the bottom of the sixth when Nate McClure drew a walk, scoring one run.

DHC Diamond Hit Club built a four-run lead in the third inning and then held off a Creekside Fitness charge. Creekside put up four runs in the failed comeback. Danny Flynn, Nick Magnifico, and Payton Zupko picked up RBIs to lead the rally.

Creekside Fitness evened things up at four in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run.

Vince Cairns earned the win for DHC Diamond Hit Club. Cairns surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out one. Adam Salesky threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Salesky recorded the last nine outs to earn the save.

McCartney took the loss for Creekside. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits.

Sam Retton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead DHC Diamond Hit Club.

Johnny Leedham led Creekside Fitness with two hits in four at bats.

CREEKSIDE STARTS ON THE RIGHT FOOT

STRUTHERS OH-

It came down to the last play, but the Ohio Longhorns were on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Creekside Fitness on Thursday to open the 16U NABF World Series. The game was tied at six with Creekside batting in the bottom of the seventh when Keith Smith’s sac fly scored one run.

Ohio Longhorns trailed by four runs in the second inning, but then fought back to lower the final margin. They tallied five runs in the failed comeback. Nick Herbele, Alex Parker, Dominic King, and Trevor Vojtkofsky came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Creekside Fitness opened up scoring in the first inning, when Danny Flynn singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ohio Longhorns evened things up at six in the top of the sixth inning when Vojtkofsky doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ohio Longhorns notched three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Herbele and Parker, all driving in runs in the frame.

Creekside scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning came thanks in part to a fielder’s choice by Flynn.

Noah Newman took the loss for Ohio Longhorns. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out four.

Nick Magnifico started the game for Creekside Fitness. The fireballer allowed six hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three

Ohio Longhorns tallied one home run on the day. Parker had a four bagger in the second inning.

Ohio Longhorns tallied nine hits in the game. Reed Sackett, Vojtkofsky, and Parker all managed multiple hits. Parker, Vojtkofsky, and Sackett each collected two hits to lead.

Devin Gruver went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Creekside in hits.

CREEKSIDE PUSHES LATE TO WIN

STRUTHERS OH- The game between Creekside Fitness and Dura Edge was tied at 3-3 going into the 7th, but 5 runs in the top of the inning was enough to give Creekside the boost to win 8-3.

Jack Davis had a great day for Creekside going 2-4 with a run scored, and 3 RBI.  Andrew Sallipo went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a pair of RBI.  Johnny Leedham got himself a 3-4 day with a run scored.

Payton Zupko was given the win on the mound for Creekside. He gave up no runs and no hits in 1 inning and struck out 2. Nick Magnifico pitched 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 1.

Mitch Garvin got multiple hits for Dura Edge going 2-4 on the day.  Joseph Bobusci did the same going 2-4.  Blake Jeffries went 1-2 with a run scored.

Kris Hrosar got pegged with the loss gir Dura Edge. He went an inning. He gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit

 

AVALANCHE SET THE TONE EARLY

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche came in to the game Sunday and set the tone in the early innings. They had 7 runs on the board after 3 innings of play. They kept their foot on the gas and beat Creekside 11-6.

Jake Mattocks was a freight train on offense for Avalanche. He went 4-4 on the day with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Austin Ward went 1-2 with a RBI.  Lucas Cummings went 2-4 with a run scored.

DJ Donatelli picked up the win on the mound. He went 6 innings and gave up 4 runs on 11 hits. He struck out a pair.

Paul Connelly put together a solid day for Creekside. He went 2-4 with 2 RBI.  Danny Flynn also went 2-4 and got himself a RBI.  Jack Davis also had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored.

Riley Davison was charged with the loss on the hill for Creekside. He went 6 innings and was not charged with a earned run on 9 hits.  He struck out 5.

CREEKSIDE TOO MUCH FOR ATHLETIX TO HANDLE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside’s bats were enough to win a high scoring affair with Athletix. Creekside came back from being down 3-0 early to win 8-5.

Clayton Blucher was near unstoppable at the plate for Creekside. He went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Alex Gabauer also had a strong performance going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Gavin Miller made the most out of a 1-4 day scoring a run, and knocking in a pair of RBI.

Luke Savage tossed his way to a win on the bump. He pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 5 runs on 10 hits.

Cam Hollobaugh was productive for the Athletix offense. He went 1-3 with a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Tristan Adamson, and Ty Ventresco both 1-3 with a RBI.  Nate Ostas had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored. He wasn’t the only one, Nate Fleming also had a pair of hits in four at bats. He scored a run.

Jake Cunningham was hit with the loss. He threw 3.2 and gave up 6 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out a pair.

FALCONS CRANK IT UP AGAINST CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons looked as dominant as ever as they wasted no time dispatching Creekside on Saturday 10-3.

Jay Campbell had himself a day at the plate for the Falcons going 3-4 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Seth Cervello went 3-4 as well, he knocked in 2 RBI.  Kolton Ruark got 3 hits as well going 3-4 with a run scored, and a RBI. Bo Fornataro went 1-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Shawn Kristophel pitched his way to a win going all 7 innings on the bump. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and struck out 6.

Jack Davis and Paul Connelly both went 1-3 with a RBI on the day for Creekside.  Danny Flynn gathered multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  Andrew Sallipo, and Nick Magnifico both went 1-3 with a run scored.

Dylan Barrett was tagged with the loss on the mound.  He went 1.1 innings and gave up 1 run on 1 hit.

CREEKSIDE PUTS THE HURT ON BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- Everything was going right for Creekside on Thursday in 16U Class B action. They hit and pitched their way to a dominating 16-1 victory over Ballistic Baseball.

It was Danny Flynn swinging the biggest bat of the day for Creekside. He went 3-4 with runs scored and 3 RBI.  Kaiden Anthony went 1-3 with a pair of RBI.  Jack Davis made the most of a 1-4 night knocking in 3 RBI and scoring 2 runs.  Creekside worked 7 walks as a team, Devin Gruver went 1-2 with 2 of those walks, and a run scored. He also collected a RBI.

The strong hitting should not overshadow the impressive pitching performance that Creekside put out. Riley Davison took the win going 2 innings and giving up no runs on 2 hits. He struck out 1.

Luke Leonard had a nice night for Ballistic despite the offensive struggles. He went 1-2 with a run scored.  Brady Harman and Stargell Fuhr both went 1-2 on the day. Will Moore did not get retired on the night going 1-1.

Dominic Elia was tagged with the loss on the mound for Balistic. He went 3 innings giving up 6 runs on 8 hits. He was able to strike out 5 hitters.

QUICK START ENOUGH FOR EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Two first inning runs were all that Eagle Wear needed to grab a 2-0 win over Creekside on Monday night in 18U Class B action.

Teddy Ruffner was productive for Eagle Wear on the day. He went 1-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  Eli Harpalani went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Christian Zilli collected an RBI as well.

Zilli was electric on the hill for Eagle Wear. He went 6 innings and gave up 0 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 3.

Gage Gillott went 1-2 for Creekside. Clayton Blucher went 1-3. Brady Hansen also went 1-3 on the day.

Tyler Switalski took the loss despite throwing well on the hill. He went all 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He struck out an eye popping 14 while only walking 2.
