BROOKFIELD SOFTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH DAVID DEJOY

BROOKFIELD OH- Last season, Brookfield was one of those softball teams that flew under the radar. With so much talent and success in the area, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. But this year the Warriors are looking to land on the top of the deck. While they only bring one senior to the roster this season after losing six to graduation, the Warriors have a lot of juniors with tons of experience. They’ll be counting on them for leadership, and the youth on the roster to step up big time. They were 17-9 last season and fell to Mathews in the district championship. Mathews went all the way to Firestone for the state tournament.

Head coach David DeJoy took the time to join us on YSN’s Running Point this week to help us preview the season. He talks with Ty Bartell and Anthony Hartwig about his junior leaders, who he expects to step up in new positions, and much more. Don’t miss a minute of Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with David DeJoy.

HEADED HOME: BROOKFIELD LADY WARRIORS SOFTBALL PREVIEW

BROOKFIELD, OH – David DeJoy, Brookfield Warriors softball head coach spoke to us about the returning lettermen that will be a big part of the team this year, two of which, Autumn Sirochman playing first base and Izzy Shingledecker being the catcher behind the dish this year are going to be looked to for leadership. Two of the returning lettermen have significant experience that are coming back this year after a missed year from the 2020 season. Coach DeJoy is still figuring out his lineup and is moving the girls around giving them some experience at multiple positions. The biggest issue for the warriors is  just lack of reps, like so many teams in the state and across the country. Coach David DeJoy reminds us about how he is always evaluating and teaching all year long. Communication is key for his young team, effort and attitude are the things the brookfield warriors will help lead the team to victory.
