EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The Lady Potters once again showed progress, this time against rival Edison in a 56-32 victory on Monday night.
Aliyah Parsons paced the teams with 13 points, while the trio of Aynsley Galeoti, Ally Furman, and Kenzie Headley had eight points apiece.
Pam Johnson led the Lady Cats with 13 tallies. Sophia Henderson had eight points and Pressley Meadows had six.
East Liverpool moves to 4-10 on the year and Edison drops to 4-7.
Alliance OH- The West branch boys traveled 7 miles west to participate in the Mount Union Christmas Classic. The Warriors traditionally play in this Christmas Classic every season, and this year their matchup featured the Fairless Falcons.The Warriors walked away with a 50-30 victory and improved to 3-2 on the season.
West Branch started off strong defensively only giving up just ten points at the half. The offense in the first half wasn’t all that great, but it didn’t have to be because the defense was playing spectacularly. The offense picked up in the second half and Senior Thomas Egli had a large part to do with that. He had 13 points to go along with 15 rebounds. Egli used his size to dominate the boards playing against a smaller Fairless team.
Warrior guard Jaxon Robb also had a solid game with 9 points. He knocked down a couple of three pointers. Cooper Anderson added 7 points, while Joey Jackson and Jeremiah Thomas added 6 points. Once again, Thomas played well both offensively and defensively as he was able to collect a number of assists and steals.
Fairless struggled to find any offense as they only scored 34 points in the game. Fairless was without a couple of key players in the game for unknown reasons. Luke Schlabach led the way for Fairless with 12 points, knocking down four three pointers. Carson Colucci helped out with 6 points for the Falcons.
West Branch will travel to Canfield on the 27th to take on a tough Cardinals team. The Warriors are 3-0 in non conference games but are 0-2 inside the EBC. Fairless drops to 3-5 with the loss and will head back home for a matchup against East Canton on Dec.30th.
Beloit OH- The West Branch girls basketball team welcomed East Liverpool to town last night and walked away with a 51-23 victory. The Lady Warriors are now starting to hit their stride. They have won two straight games and are looking to continue that momentum throughout the rest of the season.
East Liverpool played a zone defense the whole game and Warrior guard Chloe Dennison took full advantage of that. She was scorching hot form beyond the arch knocking in six three pointers to go along with her season high 22 points. Hannah Egli had another solid offensive performance adding 14 points. The Warriors only led 19-9 at the half, but coach Deshields ramped up the pressure and his team was really solid defensively to run away with the game in the second half. Baylee Waugaman, Mati Hawk, Cami Campbell, Mikayln Fitts, and Livvie Showalter all scored as well.
East Liverpool struggled to find its offense all night. Dalani Ice was the Potters leading scorer with 6 points. Dacianelle Andrews, Aliyah Parsons, and Kenzie Headley all contributed with 4 points on the night. One of the positives for the Potters was Ice knocking down two deep three pointers. Shots were hard to come by for the Potters, but Ice was one of the few who had quality looks from beyond the arch.
With the loss, East Liverpool drops to 2-7 on the season. In their next game, they will make the short trip up to beaver country to take on Beaver Local.They were able to get the win the first time around 60-43 over their arch rival. West Branch improves to 3-6 with the win. The Lady Warriors were scheduled to play Louisville this Friday but that game was canceled. The team will travel to Bishop Hartley on December 28th.

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- As we roll into basketball season, season-openers are always the best part to see who is going up against who to kick off the season. In this particular matchup between the East Liverpool Potters and the Beaver Local Beavers, the stakes were even higher between the two bitter rivals. The Potters traveled to Beaver Local on Friday night looking to make a statement, and what a statement they made. With a whole new look on the floor, the Potters had huge contributions from everyone. The Beaver would find a way to cut the Potters leads multiple times, but turnovers and hot shooting from the Potters put a dagger in the comeback for the Beavers. East Liverpool would eventually walk away with a victory in the big season-opener on the road, 75-49.
The first half was full of back and forth runs for both squads. The Potters got out to a quick start, but the Beavers shut that down and ended the first quarter down by just 2 points. The second quarter was not much different, East Liverpool quickly went up 28-13 within the first few minutes of the second quarter. Again, the Beavers did not back down as they eventually cut the Potters lead down to 9 points, going into halftime with a 38-29 score. In the second half, it was all Potters. The defensive shut down by East Liverpool to start the third quarter was the momentum swing the Potters needed. A 15-0 run and a 16-point lead helped the Potters extend their momentum into the fourth as the shooters for East Liverpool eventually locked this game up by knocking down a total of 11 threes on the night.
For the Potters, Marquise Glenn led the way with 24 points. Preston Kerr and Cohen Pease both finished with 11. Malachi Reed added 9 points on the night.
For the Beavers, Austin Cline and Owen Bzinak both led the way with 13 points on the night. Evan Stephenson contributed 10.
Looking ahead, East Liverpool will play in the Lincoln Park Tournament Sunday, taking on Ambridge. Beaver Local will be back in action Tuesday night as they will travel to Harrison Central.

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- East Liverpool got their first win on their brand new field on Friday night as they toppled Oak Glen 44-12.
It was the run game that dominated the night for the Potters. They ran for a total of 443 yards and had two players eclipse the 100 yard mark. Quintin Conrad led the way in that category as he tumbled on to 177 yards with just 11 attempts. That’s a stunning average of almost 16 yards per run. Trent Davis also ran wild for 125 yards on 10 Carrie’s to add to the Potters onslaught. The Potters will stay home on Friday as they conclude the regular season hosting Weir.
COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview has been steamrolling opponents all season long, but as the schedule turns closer to tournaments, the Rebels will put their skills to the test plenty of times. The first of these tests came against East Liverpool on Monday night. They lost their first set of the season, but still flexed their muscles in a four set victory (25-19 20-25 25-13 25-12)
Abbey Emch had her best game of the season with a monster 29 kill performance. She earned a double double with 11 digs. Grace Auer completed a triple double with 18 kills, 33 assists, and 23 digs. Lainy Auer had a double double with 15 assists, and 24 digs, she also added 7 kills on the night.
Kyia White led the offense with 11 kills on the night for East Liverpool. Kenzie Headley added 6 kills to the offense as well. Dalani Ice contributed to the offense by setting up 18 assists. Kamryn Yanni also set well with 10 assists.
Crestview remains undefeated at 16-0 and will travel to Garfield on Tuesday night. East Liverpool is now 15-2 and will travel to Indian Creek on Wednesday.
EAST LIVERPOOL OH- If you are looking for one of the most exciting golfers around, head a little south to East Liverpool and check out Nate Kelly. The Potter standout has done nothing but dominate his domain on the golf course. The biggest reason for his success, is his unshakable ability to stay positive and mentally focus through the ups and downs of the golf course. Mental toughness is so crucial in the sport, and Kelly has a ton of it.

The most meaningful golfing he has done the past two summers – raising donations and playing as many holes as possible which benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Youngstown. The Summer of 2021 he played with high schoolers and raised over $1000. This past summer they invited him to play up with the adults and he raised over $3000.

WHEELING WV- East Liverpool’s Nathan Kelly made the trek with his teammates to Wheeling, WV in search of golf glory at the OVAC championship.m
That search was over the minute Kelly teed it up as the senior went on to card a 71 even par round earning OVAC 4A medalist honors Tuesday afternoon at Oglebay’s Crispin Course. The Potters as a team posted a score of 369, Preston Dawson contributed with an 87.
Beaver Local also in 4A finished the day with a score of 425, Michael McKenzie led the way for the Beavers carding an 87 on the day. Southern Local in 2A/1A shot 379 as a team. The Indians received a solid effort from Jason Riggs who finished his round with an 84.

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- The Potters Boys soccer team started strong with Ayden Wright scoring the first goal scored by the boys on the new turf surface and they never let up. Scoring 5 unanswered goals and getting the first win on the new turf field by shutting out the Harrison Central Huskies 5-0.
Jake Smith kept several shots from the Huskies out of the goal .

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- Everyone who knows football knows that the game is usually won or lost at the line of scrimmage. For East Liverpool, they have one of the most dominant figures at the line of scrimmage that you’ll find in the area. Mason Ludwig has a drive that stands up against anyone else’s. You can bet that he is the first to show up to anything, and one of the last to leave. This unmatched work ethic makes him an amazing leader on the Potters football team. You know what they say about great leaders, they leave impacts on a program that will stay there for years. There’s no doubt that after Ludwig graduates, his standard that he’s set for himself, and his teammates will continue to be met. As far as the Pottersvgo, Mason’s leadership is unmeasurable with such a young roster overall. Great leaders lead from the front, and you want find anyone better in the front line than Ludwig.
