GARFIELD SMOOTHLY TAKES CARE OF THE VIKINGS

GARRETTSVILLE OH- Garfield delivered a dominant performance on Thursday as they hosted Waterloo and secured a commanding 10-0 victory.

Leading the way for Garfield’s offense was Kaelyn Tasker, who had an outstanding game with a double, a triple, a run scored, and 3 RBI. Kolby Fresch also made a significant impact, crushing a triple, a single, scoring a run, and driving in a run. Juliana Genovese contributed with a double, a single, scoring 2 runs, and adding an RBI.

In the circle, Lizzy Moore was exceptional, hurling a shutout and allowing only one hit. Moore’s strong pitching performance kept Waterloo’s offense in check throughout the game.

WARRIORS CLOSE OUT EBC PLAY

West Branch finished its EBC schedule  with an 8-2 record with a 10-2 victory at Salem Thursday afternoon.  The Warriors are now 13-6 on the season.

Klary McKay got the win in the circle striking out nine allowing five hits and zero earned runs.

Sara Schmidt powered the offense with two hits including a home run and three RBI.  Ellie Tucker tripled, Addi Craven doubled and Brynn Smith had two bunt singles for the Warriors.

The team will travel to Canton South on Friday to take on the Wildcats.

EAGLES HAVE A POWER PARTY

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- United showcased their power on Thursday night, using three home runs to cruise past East Liverpool with a dominant 17-1 victory.

Madelyn Lucas, Kiley Hetherington, and Grace Coffee led the charge for United’s offense with each player hitting their first career varsity home run. Lucas went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, Hetherington went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, and Coffee went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Sam Lippiatt also contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBI, while Joshlynn Irey and Matti Zines each added 2 hits and scored runs.

In the circle, Grace Coffee was dominant, pitching a complete game with 5 innings, allowing just 1 hit and no earned runs while striking out 5.

MILTON MAKING MOVES IN LONG NIGHT OF ACTION

LOWELLVILLE OH- Jackson Milton showed their resilience and determination on Thursday night, digging deep into their energy tanks to sweep a doubleheader against Lowellville. They secured a narrow 7-6 victory in Game 1 and followed it up with a convincing 13-4 win in Game 2.

In Game 1, Jackson Milton’s offense was led by Ivy McBeth and Brena McBeth, each going 2 for 3 at the plate. Ivy contributed 2 RBI and a run scored, while Brena added 1 RBI and scored twice. Tiffany Tingler and Gabby Kerr also contributed with hits and RBIs. Brena McBeth was stellar in the circle, pitching 6 strong innings, allowing just 1 earned run on 7 hits while striking out 11.

In Game 2, Jackson Milton’s offense continued to shine, with Gabby Kerr, Maggie Simkins, and Grace Johns each collecting multiple hits and RBIs. Kerr had 2 RBI, Simkins drove in 3 runs and scored 3 times, and Johns contributed with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Brena McBeth also added an RBI and scored twice. Macayle Thornhill pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 7.

MCDONALD SECURES MVAC ON SENIOR NIGHT

MCDONALD OH- McDonald celebrated their seniors in style on Thursday night with an 8-1 victory over Springfield, securing at least a share of the MVAC Scarlett tier.

McDonald’s offense came alive to support their seniors, led by Miley Titus with 3 hits and 2 runs scored. Isabella O’Brien and Aubrey Evans each drove in 2 RBI, while Jenna Helco scored 3 runs and Kayla Helco added 3 hits.

In the circle, Bri McCombs delivered a stellar performance, pitching a complete game with 15 strikeouts, allowing just 5 hits and no earned runs.

Rachel Malatok found success at the plate for Springfield going 3-3.  Olivia Allen went 1-3 with 1 run scored.

LOUISVILLE TAKES ADVANTAGE OF TOURNAMENT TUNE UP

CANTON OH- Louisville notched an impressive win on Thursday, defeating a quality Hoover team 7-3.

In a balanced offensive effort, Leah Claugus led the way for Louisville with 2 RBI and a run scored, while Anna Sirohman went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kenzie Denzer contributed with 2 hits and an RBI, and Matti Benson scored twice on her 2 for 4 performance.

In the circle, Sirohman pitched 4.2 solid innings, allowing 6 hits and just 1 earned run while striking out 3 batters. Katelyn Miller came in for relief, shutting down Hoover with 2.1 innings of hitless and scoreless pitching, striking out 4.

LADY LAKERS CONTROL THE TIDE IN WIN OVER RAIDERS

Shaker Heights, OH- The Pymatuning Valley Lakers claimed full control of the game against the Shaker Heights Raiders with a commanding 15-0 victory on Thursday.

Our Lakers wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Macie Payne ignited the offense with a single in the top of the second inning, followed by Nataleigh Haines’ double, each driving in a run.

The Lakers continued their offensive onslaught in the third inning, scoring seven runs on five hits. McKenna Jordan, Saige Payne, and Kendall Gray contributed with timely hits, while a couple of errors added to the Lakers’ run total.

In the fourth inning, the Lakers kept the pressure on, adding six more runs on two hits. Jenova Stockmaster and Jordan delivered clutch hits, while Kylie Luke and Macie Payne contributed with key plays to extend the lead.

On the mound, Payne delivered a stellar performance, pitching three scoreless innings and striking out nine batters to earn the win. Meanwhile, Praslin of the Raiders endured a tough outing, conceding nine runs (five earned) on eight hits over three innings.

Mackenzie Kribbs provided solid relief pitching, tossing two shutout innings to preserve the Lakers’ shutout victory.

Offensively, the Lakers were firing on all cylinders, collecting a total of 11 hits. Haines, Payne, Allison Clark, and Jordan all contributed with two hits each, while Payne and Gray drove in two runs apiece.

Additionally, the Lakers showed discipline at the plate, accumulating five walks, and utilized their speed on the basepaths to steal seven bases throughout the game.

With this dominant performance behind them, the Pymatuning Valley Lakers eagerly anticipate their upcoming matchup against Chalker on Friday.

VIKINGS OFFENSE KICKS IT BACK INTO GEAR

LEAVITTSBURG OH- LaBrae secured a much-needed win on Thursday night, walking off with a commanding 13-3 victory over Warren Harding in the 6th inning.

The LaBrae offense came alive, led by Riley Rowe and Mariah Jones, who each went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Rowe showcased her power with a home run and drove in 5 runs, while Jones contributed 3 RBI and scored twice. Nalena Page added 2 RBI, Rylee McDonough chipped in with an RBI, and Lindsay Bringham and Shelby Bragg each contributed with an RBI.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, Rylee McDonough’s bunt scored Khloe Sanderson to walk off the game to give the Vikings the run rule win.

In the circle, Rowe was stellar, pitching a complete game, allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 9 batters.

 

EAGLES FLY HIGH IN WIN OVER SPARTANS

Hubbard, OH- Looking to protect their home field, the Hubbard Eagles soared to a commanding 12-2 triumph over the Conneaut Spartans on Thursday.

Conneaut initially made their mark in the first inning, with Dylan Philip’s double driving in two runs.

However, the Hubbard Eagles swiftly seized control, claiming the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Braydon Songer’s timely double brought in two runs, propelling the Eagles ahead 3-2.

The Eagles continued their offensive onslaught in the third inning, scoring five runs despite registering just one hit. Gabe Rusnak’s single and Noah Adamson’s sacrifice fly contributed to the run tally, along with a passed ball and an error.

Joey Komlanc delivered a stellar performance on the mound for the Eagles, earning the win after conceding just three hits and two runs over four innings while striking out five batters and issuing three walks.

On the Spartans’ side, Lincoln Wade started the game but faced challenges, allowing seven runs (five earned) over two innings.

Rusnak stepped up for the Eagles in relief, tossing one inning of scoreless baseball and striking out three batters without allowing a hit.

At the plate, Songer led the Eagles’ offensive charge, going 1-for-2 and driving in two runs as the leadoff hitter. Andrew Kali also contributed with two hits in three at-bats.

The Eagles demonstrated disciplined plate discipline, drawing eight walks throughout the game, with Geno Leshnack and Danny Scarmack each receiving two free passes.

Defensively, the Eagles turned a crucial double play, showcasing their defensive prowess.

Philip stood out for the Spartans, providing offensive firepower with two runs batted in.

Looking ahead, the Hubbard Eagles will hit the road to face McKinley in their next game on Monday, while the Spartans will host the St. John Heralds on Saturday in a home matchup.

ANDERSON’S 12K’S LEAD THE HERALDS PAST THE FALCONS

Ashtabula, OH- In a stellar display of pitching, Will Anderson led the St. John Heralds to a commanding 4-1 triumph over the Jefferson Falcons on Thursday, striking out an impressive 12 batters while allowing just three hits and one run over seven innings on the mound.

The Heralds wasted no time asserting their dominance, jumping out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Brady Cole’s timely single and Ryan Williams’ productive at-bat, resulting in a fielder’s choice, paved the way for St. John’s offense to notch two crucial runs.

On the pitching front, Logan Padgett took the mound for the Falcons, delivering a solid performance despite facing a formidable Heralds lineup. Padgett tallied 10 strikeouts over five and one-third innings, conceding five hits and four runs (two earned) while issuing five walks.

Chase Clutter, batting eighth in the Heralds’ lineup, emerged as a standout performer at the plate, leading the team with two hits in three at-bats. Cole, Clutter, and Williams each contributed with an RBI, showcasing the balanced offensive production of the Heralds.

Defensively, the Heralds executed a crucial double play during the game, stifling the Falcons’ attempts to mount a comeback.

For the Falcons, Tate Hudson stood out with a solid performance at the plate, leading the team in hits.

Despite the loss, the Falcons demonstrated their defensive prowess, committing zero errors throughout the game. Michael McGraw showcased his defensive skills with the most chances in the field, registering nine opportunities.

Looking ahead, the Heralds will aim to carry the momentum from this victory into their upcoming home matchup against Badger on Friday. Meanwhile, the Falcons will seek redemption as they prepare to face off against the Perry Pirates in their next game.
