SOUTH RANGE WRESTLING COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH DAVE MARKULIN

CANFIELD OH- State Champions! That’s what you can call South Range for the second time in school history. The first team to bring hone the biggest trophy in the state was baseball. Now, it is wrestling’s turn to soak in the glory. On Saturday, the Raiders won three matches to take the state championship trophy out of Versailles, and back to Canfield.

Unlike every other sport, the team state championship is not the end of the line for these athletes. Coming off their state championship, the Raiders hosted Rootstown for their final home dual of the season. After dominating the Rovers, now they look toward the individual tournament where plenty of their wrestlers will have the opportunity to qualify for state.

South Range head coach Dave Markulin took the time to talk to YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about his team, and the state championship. He also talks some strategy and coach with Gary Althiser. You won’t want to miss this exclusive coach’s corner with Raider wrestling only on YSN.
