UPSHIRE NAILS DOWN WIN 100; BADGER ROLLS

KINSMAN, OH- It’s been a record year for Badger on multiple fronts already, and on Tuesday, they added another bullet point to their campaign with Coach Josh Upshire getting his 100th career win with a 65-34 win over Chalker.

For Badger, Senior Dunan Moy paced the play with 26 points.  The Braves were supplemented by Jack Harnett and Alton Winchek’s 11 points apiece, along with eight points for Jason Parsons.

Chalker was led on the floor with 18 points by Dan Kellar, and five-point performances from Andrew Kirkland and Tanner Kelson.

Badger improves to 8-3, while Chalker falls to 2-7 on the campaign.

 

BADGER BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH JOSH UPSHIRE

KINSMAN, OHIO- The ride of the Badger Braves Boys Basketball team has definetly been a thrilling one. The Braves had the hot start of the season starting 10-0, being led by seniors Brad Hamilton and Cole Burnett and as well as Junior standout, Duncan Moy. The Braves also have a pair of scrappy freshman, Preston Geracitano and Lewis Flowers, who have certainly made a splash. After the 10-0 start, the Braves had a couple bumps in the road and now stand at a record of 14-4.

Tournament play is just around the corner and Badger Braves Head Coach, Josh Upshire is doing the best he can at keeping his guys calm and collected to finish the regular season and then heading into tournament play. Coach Upshire took time to sit down with YSN’s Matt Morrison, who has being covering the Braves all year, to talk about the tournament play and things that need to be worked out to keep the thrilling ride of the Badger Braves season going! KINGSMAN OH- Badger brings a ton of size with them to this division 4 district tournament. That is a big advantage they have over other teams, and head coach Josh Upshire knows it. Now, Jackson Milton knows it as well. The height of the Braves caused too many problems for the Blue Jays to overcome in the sectional semifinal. Badger moves on to travel to Lisbon in the sectional final on Friday, and they hope their size will be just as dominating.

Coach Upshire took time to come on YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about where his team is at heading into their next tournament game. He talks with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about the game plan heading in to Lisbon. Check out Episode 2 of Coach’s Corner with Josh Upshire.

KINSMAN OH- We are honored to welcome Badger into the YSN family! It’s an exciting time over there with their boys basketball program. With a ton of height in the front court, and skill in the back court the Braves will be a tough cookie to crack. Badger will open the season Tuesday November 30th at home against East Palestine.

Head coach Josh Upshire was kind enough to take the time to join Anthony Hartwig and Ty Bartell to talk about his program and preview the season. They talk about the culture coach Upshire is trying to build, the Badger community support, and so much more. Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with Josh Upshire is live!
