WESTERN RESERVE VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH KRISIE HUGHES

BERLIN CENTER OH- The quest for a championship is a long road. For Western Reserve Volleyball it all starts in the summer. The Blue Devils have a MVAC trophy in their sights. It wouldn’t be any small feat either. The MVAC Scarlett Tier is one of the most highly contested conferences in the YSN family. You could make four solid cases for a team to end the season at the top. Western Reserve is going to work to their limits every day to try to be that team. Head coach Krisie Hughes sets that standard. We’ll know a lot about the Blue Devils from the jump as their second game of the year will be against reigning MVAC champions Mineral Ridge.

Coach Hughes was kind enough to take the time to talk with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig about the upcoming campaign.  They talk about how the core of leadership will help the future of the program, squaring off with her daughter in the first game of the season, and much more. But don’t let that perception fool you, Western Reserve has to work extremely hard to be at the level they are. With some similar faces mixed with new ones Western Reserve has put together yet another solid campaign. The Blue Devils took a first round bye in the tournament and finally know their opponent. The Devils will play Windham on Thursday in Western Reserve.

Head coach Krisie Hughes continued her first season as the head coach at the varsity level. She took time to talk with Anthony Hartwig about just that this week. WESTERN RESERVE VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH KRISIE HUGHES

BERLIN CENTER OH- When you think of a family name that has defined Western Reserve volleyball through the years, most people have Hughes pop into their mind. Aleah Hughes shined as a Blue Devil, and went on to have an amazing career at Youngstown State, her sister Alexis did the same, and now Alyvia is featured as a main stay on the team. So the next logical step would be to put a Hughes in the head coaching chair. Krisie Hughes takes the reigns for her first year at the helm of a program that is coming off a 22 win season.

Coach Hughes was kind enough to join YSN’s Running Point this week to give us a sneak peak of the 2022 Blue Devils. She talks with Ty Bartell and Anthony Hartwig about her family legacy, the pressures of keeping up the success of the program,  and much more. We are just over a week away from the start of the season, make sure you’re ready by checking out Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with Krisie Hughes.
