URSULINE SOFTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH KRISTINA DUGAN

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Last season Ursuline was a breath away from a trip to Akron to play in the state tournament. They have been knocking on that door for some time, and are hungry to kick it down this year.  They may have lost some great pieces to graduation, but there is still a ton of talent on this Irish roster. With a typical Ursuline schedule that’s going to push the team all season, the Irish will be ready to go come postseason.

Irish head coach Kristina Dugan comes into her second season leading the Irish.  She’s brought a great mentality to the program, and will look to continue to do so. She took the time to talk to YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to preview the season.  She talks about the returning stars, some new faces to get familiar with, and so much more.  Check out Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner With Kristina Dugan only on YSN.

URSULINE SOFTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH KRISTINA DUGAN

YOUNGSTOWN OH- For the second straight season Ursuline is heading to regionals. This team has set this as a goal ever since falling just short of Akron in their last game last season. Not only do they want to win for their seniors this season, but last year’s seniors deserve to see this program in state. Ursuline got the 7-0 win over Rootstown in the district championship to clinch the trip to regionals. The Irish will travel to Ravenna on Wednesday to take on Northwestern for the regional semifinals. On the other side of the bracket South Range plays Tuslaw. Games in Ravenna start at 1:00. Ursuline is slated as the second game of the day.

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Ursuline softball has experienced an era of great success. Everyone in the softball scene of the area knows how strong their program is. Now the Irish are looking at the dawn of a new era. Head coach Kristina Dugan is taking the reigns in her first year at the helm. Although the Irish said goodbye to three seniors who all went on to play  in college, they still have plenty of returning talent. The power of the Irish lit the world on fire last season, and they’ll look to continue their winning ways.
