CUMMINGS GETS GOING; TOSSES NO NO AGAINST FREEDOM

BESSEMER, PA- Lucas Cummings was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Monday, as Cummings threw a no-hitter to lead Mohawk Warriors past Freedom 15-0.

The Warriors got on the board in the first inning when Cummings tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.

Cummings was the winning pitcher for Mohawk Area Warriors Varsity. The righty went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out six, and walking zero.

Jacob Milbert took the loss for Freedom. The bulldog allowed six hits and 11 runs over three innings, striking out one.

Mohawk racked up nine hits on the day. Jay Wrona and Brady Harman all managed multiple hits for Mohawk. Jay Michael Wrona led Mohawk with three hits in three at-bats.

ASTROS STEAMROLL AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- The regular season finale on Monday was no problem for Astro Falcons. They dominated Avalanche in a decisive 11-1 victory. They out hit Avalanche 14-3.

Stephen Tarnoci was a catalyst for the Falcons offense going 1-3 with 3 RBI. Tyler Staub went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Ben Slanker went 3-4 with 2 RBI.

Lucas Cummings had the sole RBI for Avalanche. He went 1-2 on the day. Jake Mattocks went 1-2 with a run scored. The third Avalanche hit came from Josh Work who went 1-2.

Ryan Petro got the victory toeing the rubber. He went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 9.

PROSPECTS BARREL THROUGH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects used a combination of strong offense and lights out pitching to make quick work of Avalanche on Sunday 7-1. Prospects scored 7 runs on 8 hits while allowing Avalanche on 1 run on 4 hits.

Jake Hettrick didn’t collect a hit for Prospects, but he did lead the team with 2 RBI. He also walked and scored a run. Peyton Koss went 1-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

Tim West collected 2 of his team’s 4 hits as he had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2. Lucas Cummings went 1-2 and had Avalanche’s sole RBI.

Robby Kist was dynamite on the hill for Prospects. He went 4 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 1 batter.

BALLISTIC BURSTS AHEAD AND HOLDS BACK AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic Baseball jumped out to a 3-0 lead right out of the gates in the 1st inning. The Avalanche kept inching closer scoring a run in the 3rd and 5th innings. Ballistic was able to hang on though as they came away with the 3-2 win.

Andrew Cupon gathered the lone RBI for the victorious Ballistic team. He went 1-1. Marc Conti was the only player in the lineup to get multiple hits going 2-2.

Paxton Grimes went 1-3 for the Avalanche with an RBI. Lucas Cummings mirrored those numbers going 1-3 as well with an RBI.

Dalton Curron got the win on the mound for Ballistic Baseball. He tossed 3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits. He struck out 3.

Tim West pitched 3 innings for the Avalanche giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and striking out 4.
