WU IS PERFECT AGAINST YOUNGSTOWN, LIFTS CHINA TO VICTORY

WASHINGTON, PA- Sin-Jie Wu earned the win for Chinese Taipei. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out nine and walking zero.  Colten Shaffer took the loss for Youngstown.  He surrendered four runs on two hits over five innings, striking out one and walking zero on 69 pitches (40 strikes.)  The game was only five innings due to poor weather from Monday’s schedule.  All 6 games today will be under the 5-inning schedule.

Chinese Taipei was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Chiu-Teng Chen had the most chances in the field with ten.

For Chinese Taipei, they were able to capitalize on errors by Youngstown as only 1 of their 4 runs were earned.  The victors will now wait to see who emerges from the Youngstown/Dominican Republic game this afternoon.  That game slated for 1pm.
