The Geneva Eagles continued their dominance on the boys’ side, securing their second consecutive overall team win, while Lakeside’s girls clinched a repeat victory for the second year in a row as well. KRAY HAS A DAY IN WARRIORS WIN OVER SPIRE

East Ashtabula- In an early season test, the Edgewood Warriors emerged victorious against the Spire Red (National Team) with a final score of 56-50. The game, which unfolded with intense energy and competitive spirit, showcased the prowess of the Warriors as they maintained their undefeated record (2-0) this season.

Quarter-wise Breakdown

1st Quarter: Edgewood Takes an Early Lead

The Warriors started the game on a high note, dominating the first quarter with a score of 21 points. The Spire Red struggled to match Edgewood’s offensive intensity, finishing the quarter with only 9 points.

2nd Quarter: Warriors Maintain Control

Edgewood continued to showcase their offensive skills in the second quarter, adding 12 more points to their total. Despite the Spire Red’s efforts to narrow the gap, the Warriors managed to maintain control, heading into halftime with a comfortable lead.

3rd Quarter: Spire Red Mounts a Comeback

The Spire Red staged a comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors with 20 points. However, Edgewood responded with 18 points of their own, ensuring they remained in the lead heading into the final quarter.

4th Quarter: Warriors Seal the Victory

The final quarter was a hard-fought battle, with both teams giving their all. While the Spire Red made a strong push with 13 points, the Warriors’ defense held firm, securing a 56-50 victory.

Standout Performances

Edgewood Warriors:

  • Logan Kray (25 points): Kray proved to be a scoring machine for the Warriors, leading the team with an impressive 25 points.
  • Jacob Ernst (20 points): Ernst showcased his scoring ability with a solid 20-point contribution to the team’s total.
  • Mason Thorr (10+ rebounds, multiple blocks): Thorr made significant contributions on the defensive end, grabbing over 10 rebounds and making multiple crucial blocks.

COWBOYS TRIPPED UP IN OT BY SPIRE

GENEVA OH- The Chaney Cowboys made the long trip to Geneva Tuesday night for a big match up with the SPIRE institute. Chaney used a big defensive second quarter, holding SPIRE to two points and leading 22-19 at the half. SPIRE would eventually come back and beat the Cowboys in an overtime thriller 61-54.

Cameron Lawrence and Travis Easterly both led the Cowboys offensively with 13 points each.

The Cowboys return to action Friday as they host Cardinal Mooney.
