WARRIORS CONTINUE VALLEY CHRISTIAN STRUGGLES

LIBERTY OH- In a matchup marked by big plays and determined football, Brookfield continued their successful run against Valley Christian with a 26-12 victory.

The first quarter set the tone for Brookfield’s dominance as Josh Rankin connected with Christian Davis for an explosive 60-yard touchdown pass, with Brian Smith adding the extra point to put them ahead 7-0. The momentum continued for Brookfield with a 3-yard touchdown run by Rico Smith, and Smith’s successful extra point extended their lead to 14-0.

Valley Christian answered back in the second quarter with an impressive 80-yard touchdown run by Ike Lake, although their two-point conversion attempt fell short, making the score 14-6 in favor of Brookfield. Brookfield wasn’t done yet, as Rankin connected with Davis again, this time for a 15-yard touchdown pass with 1:32 left in the half, putting them up 20-6 at halftime.

The third quarter saw Valley Christian mount a comeback, with Jasean Lindsey sprinting for a 69-yard touchdown run, closing the gap to 20-12. However, they couldn’t convert the two-point attempt, leaving them trailing Brookfield.

In the final quarter, Brookfield sealed their victory with a 4-yard touchdown run by Kaiden Karilla, although the extra point was unsuccessful. The game ended with Brookfield securing a 26-12 win.

With this victory, Brookfield improved to a 1-2 record and now looks forward to starting conference play in Week 4 as they host Champion. On the other hand, Valley Christian, also at 1-2, prepares for a matchup with Sebring in Week 4. This game highlighted the determination and resilience of both teams on the football field, with Brookfield ultimately emerging as the victors.
