WEST BRANCH WRAPS UP INDIANS

Girard watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-3 loss to West Branch on Saturday. West Branch scored on a home run by Sydney Mercer in the first inning and a double by Jordan Anderson in the second inning.

In the first inning, Girard got their offense started when Emily Rosace singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Ryley Pittman was credited with the victory for West Branch. The fireballer surrendered three runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Aly Wakefield took the loss for Girard. Wakefield allowed 11 hits and six runs over six innings, striking out one.

The Indians had eight hits in the game. Seyhan Dede and Sophie Griffith all managed multiple hits. Griffith and Dede each collected two hits to lead.

The Warriors totaled 11 hits in the game. Anderson, Mercer, Skyler Greeneisen, and Pittman each collected multiple hits . Anderson led  with four hits in four at bats.
