BASH AT THE BEACH; CARDS ROLL LIKE THE TIDE

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- The Canfield Cardinals weathered a push by East Lincoln (NC) in the fifth inning where Canfield Cardinals coughed up four runs, but the Red Birds still won 15-5 on Tuesday. the Mustangs scored their runs on a grand slam by Graham Smiley.  That, however, was overshadowed by another big night from Canfield’s Landon Beidelschies.

Canfield notched five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Canfield Cardinals was led by Connor Miller, AJ Havrilla, and Beidelschies, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Beidelschies took the win for Canfield as well. The southpaw went five innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out 13. Miller threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Logan Palmer took the loss for East Lincoln. The bulldog went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Offensively, the Cardinals socked two home runs on the night as well. Ben Slanker had a dinger in the fifth inning. Beidelschies put one out in the third inning.  Canfield racked up 14 hits. Ethan Prout, Michael Patellis, Havrilla, Jameson Beck, and Beidelschies each had multiple hits for the Cardinals. Prout went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Red Birds in hits.
