BULLDOGS SHOWING PROMISE AGAINST SOUTHERN

SALINEVILLE, OH- The Southern Indians just couldn’t catch up with East Palestine, dropping the game 7-1 on Monday at home.

East Palestine wasted no time getting on the board. In the top of the first, Phoenix Marvin smacked a single that brought in two runs, and Kyler Bourne’s groundout added another, making it a quick 3-0. Cale Moraski kept the momentum going with another RBI single in the second inning to push the lead to 4-0.

Phoenix Marvin was stellar on the mound for East Palestine, giving up just one unearned run on seven hits while racking up an impressive 17 strikeouts over almost seven innings. On the other side, Mason Pitts shouldered the loss for Southern, despite a solid effort with 11 strikeouts. He lasted five innings, allowing seven runs but only three were earned.

At the plate, Pitts and Brody Brown were bright spots for Southern, each snagging two hits. Logan Howell also made his presence felt with a crucial RBI.

East Palestine’s lineup saw Marvin and Bourne driving in two runs apiece, showing up big time for their team. Moraski also had a good day with the bat, collecting two hits.

East Palestine showed off their speed as well, stealing four bases during the game.

Looking forward, the Southern Indians are set for a rematch as they head to East Palestine this Wednesday, aiming to turn the tables.
