CANFIELD ANSWERS THE DOGS RALLY IN EXTRAS

POLAND OH- In a rain-soaked battle between Canfield and Poland, the rivalry between these two softball powerhouses added another thrilling chapter on Friday night.

Canfield jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, only to see it vanish as Poland rallied back, sending the game into extra innings. However, Canfield held their nerve to secure an 11-7 victory in 8 innings.

Jenna Triveri was instrumental for Canfield, both at the plate and in the outfield, making multiple diving catches in center field. She went 2-3 with 2 RBI, 2 walks, and 3 runs scored. Leah Figueroa contributed with a home run and 3 walks, while Alexis Johnson, Faith Morell, Caylee Ortiz, and Alex Ignazio each added crucial hits and RBIs.

In the circle, Caylee Ortiz pitched 6.2 solid innings, allowing just 1 earned run to keep Canfield in the game.

For Poland, Elliana Thompson led the offensive charge, going 3-5 with 3 RBI, followed by Kylee Hudran and Cassie Blatch with multiple hits and RBIs. Avery Jakubovic and Leanna Boccieri also contributed to Poland’s offense.

Despite Olivia Horn’s impressive 5 strikeouts over 8 innings, Poland couldn’t contain Canfield’s resilient offense in the end.
