CANFIELD STILL UNBEATEN IN IRONTON

IRONTON OH- Klara Edenfield was dominant in the circle, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 15 strikeouts in Canfield’s 12-1 victory on Sunday in the state tournament. Edenfield gave up just two hits and one run over six innings while walking two.

Canfield jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Sloan Vodhanel an inside the park home run, that scored two runs, then Mia Tieche singled, scoring two runs, and Kelly Kozlowski drew a walk, scoring one run.

Canfield added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Kozlowski doubled, and then scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Canfield amassed 13 hits in the game. Bryn Novotny led with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Vodhanel and Tieche each drove in two runs for Canfield’s offense.  Betty Zorella, and Kate Broderick each had multiple hits as well.  Canfield drew six walks during the game. Kozlowski led the way with two drawn. Canfield ran wild on the base paths, tallying 12 stolen bases for the game. Canfield was also sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Tieche made the most plays with 14.
