Canfield stole the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over Solon on Friday. Canfield was down 5-4 in the top of the sixth inning when Josh Juliano singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Solon took an early lead in the second inning. They hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the first inning, Solon tied things up at one. With a double on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Jake Grdic was the winning pitcher for the Cardinals. The righthander surrendered two runs on one hit over four and a third innings, striking out five. Ben Slanker threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Slanker recorded the last three outs to earn the save.
Connor Miller started the game for Canfield. The righty lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out one
Canfield racked up seven hits in the game. Juliano and Landon Beidelchies all had multiple hits. Juliano led with three hits in four at bats.
