BALLISTIC TAKES THEIR SHOT AT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside Fitness was fighting for standing positioning in the 18U division of Class B Baseball. However, on Wednesday Ballistic Baseball took a shot at Creekside’s place in the standings with a dominating 12-2 victory.

There were a lot of big bats for the potent Ballistic lineup. Colten Shaffer was the most productive going 2-3 with 4 RBI.  Brady Harman was unstoppable going 4-4 on the day with 3 runs scored and a RBI.  Nick Merola went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Tyler Mack also went 2-3 and he scored a run, along with knocking in a RBI.  Will Morrow notched a 2-3 day with a run scored and a RBI.

Morrow also shined on the mound. He lasted 5.2 IP and only gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits.  He struck out 6.

It was a tough night offensively for Creekside. Zach Hyrb went 1-3 with a RBI. Braden Zeigler managed to put together a 1-2 day.  Aidan Rossi scored a run for Creekside.

PROSPECTS SLOW DOWN KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline 18U has been on a tear the last couple weeks in Class B Baseball. They’ve jumped from once standing in eighth place, to coming into Wednesday night at fourth. Prospects cooled them off though scoring 3 runs in the top of the seventh, and winning 5-2.

Jake Hettrick had a great day for Prospects. He went 2-4 with 3 RBI.  Gino Lazzari proved too tough to retire going 3-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Marco Massucci added a RBI going 1-2 with a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Matt Mroz got the complete game victory on the mound.  He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits in his 7 innings. He struck out 8 and only walked 1.

Madden Boehm was a bright spot for Knightline going 1-3 with a RBI.  Mikey Sciortino gathered the other RBI on the day going 1-3.  Anthony Massucci was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with a walk.

Jake Papagallo pitched most of the innings for Knightline.  He gave up 2 earned runs on 8 hits, and struck out 8.

 

LATE RUNS GIVE AVALANCHE ROOM TO WIN

STRUTHERS OH- It was a close competitive game in the 18U division on Wednesday night.  Avalanche had a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. Avalanche then scored three runs in the frame, which proved important. Whiting scored a pair in the top of the seventh which would have tied the game, but instead Avalanche still won 6-3.

Kenny Lavrich was key to Avalanche’s offense going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Hayden Scarnack went 1-3 with a RBI.  Lucas Cummings did the same. Nolan Reichard was never retired, he went 2-2 on the day.

Jaret Boyer threw well for Avalanche on the hill. He went 6.2 IP and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.  He struck out an amazing 13 hitters.

Sal Mineo was very productive at the dish for Whiting. He went 2-4 with 3 RBI.  He was responsible for the only RBI on the team. Ryan Telesz went 1-2 with 2 runs scored.

Isaac Librich pitched 5 innings for Whiting giving up 5 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4.

CREEKSIDE DOUBLES UP ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside gathered more and more momentum on Friday night as they are back to their winning ways. This time around they doubled up Athletix 10-5.

The offense was on fire for Creekside. Danny Flynn was one of the bigger bats in the lineup. He went 2-3 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Tyler Kamerer also went 2-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Andrew Capan went 1-4 with a pair of RBI.

Mark Bunch threw the complete game for Creekside and gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 5 batters on his way to the win.

Bayden Pipoly made the most of a 1-4 day with a RBI to go with it.  Seth Spooner was never retired going 3-3 with 2 runs scored.  Jeff Brenner added a RBI for the Athletix offense.

PROSPECTS RUN AWAY FROM DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- It was all Prospects on Friday night in Class B action in the 18U division.  The offense was flying high, and the pitching was sharp for the Prospects in a 11-1 win.

Robert Gumino was a perfect 3-3 on the day knocking in 2 RBI for Prospects.  Marco Massucci also had 2 RBI with a 1-2 day.  Ethan Prout went 3-4 on the day with a RBI.  Brandon Popio also had multiple hits going 2-4 with 2 runs scored.  Rafe Bonifay nailed down a RBI with a 2-4 effort, he also scored a run.

Brody Meyers threw the complete game victory for Prospects.  In his 7 innings he gave up 1 run on 6 hits.  He struck out 6 as well.

Jack Kail went 1-3 for Dura Edge and collected the only RBI for the offense.  Chris Tarquinio had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored. Anthony Butto took home a 1-3 day as well.

WHITING SHOCKS THE FALCONS

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons 18U squad in Class B Baseball has been near unbeatable this summer. However, Whiting Roll-Offs however came in to Friday night unfazed and unintimidated by the task at hand.  2 runs in the top of the 7th gave them a 5-4 upset win over the Falcons.

Nick Kingerski went 1-3 on the day for Whiting, with a RBI.  Ryan Telesz drew a walk for the offense, and also collected a RBI. Nick Vitale went 1-4 with a run scored.

Marc Conti got the win on the hill for Whiting. He pitched 4 innings and gave up 0 runs on just 2 hits.  He struck out 4 batters, and as a team Whitibg struck out 7.

Elijah Dunn swung a solid stick for the Falcons in a losing effort. He went 2-3 on the day with 2 RBI and 1 run scored.  Ty Stecko also grabbed a RBI on a 1-2 effort. He walked and scored a run as well.  Joe Roth walked twice and scored a run.

Jake Awenowicz took the loss on the mound. The two runs scored against him were unearned. He struck out a pair.

LATE RUNS ENOUGH FOR AVALANCHE WIN


STRUTHERS OH- A late push at the plate and good defense down the stretch is always a good combination to have on your side in a tight matchup, just like the matchup between Dura Edge and the Avalanche Monday night. In 18U action, the Avalanche found a way to score one run in the 6th inning to propel them to a 5-4 victory over Dura Edge.

DJ Donatelli continued his great season at the plate, going 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Michael Earman had a sac-fly to pull in 2 RBIs on the night. Kenny Lavrich also went 2-3 on the night, with a run scored and an RBI. The Avalanche scored 5 runs on 8 hits, and finished with 3 walks and 4 RBIs as a team.

Jaret Boyer was hot on the mound as he got the win for the Avalanche. In his 6 IP, he surrendered just 1 earned run on 6 hits. He struck out 8 on the day.

Jack Kail, Camden Sergi, and Nathan Rynd all led the way at the plate for Dura Edge. Kail went 1-3 with 2 runs scored and a stolen base. Sergi went 1-2 with 2 RBIs. Rynd went 1-1 with 2 walks and an RBI. Dura Edge scored 4 runs on 6 hits, along with 3 RBIs as a team.

KNIGHTLINE SQUARES UP SEASON SERIES WITH CREEKSIDE


STRUTHERS OH- Knightline and Creekside squared off for the second time this season in 18U action on Monday. Creekside was able to win the first go-around between the two clubs, and it seemed like Creekside was on their way to another victory over Knightline going into the 6th inning. But Knightlines bats came alive in the 6th and 7th innings, putting up 5 unanswered runs between the two innings to come away with a 5-4 victory over Creekside.

Anthony Massucci and Mikey Sciortino both led the charge at the plate for Knightline. Massucci went 3-4 on the night with a triple, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Sciortino batted 1.000, going 1-1 with a run scored, an RBI, and 3 walks. Knightline scored 5 runs on 6 hits, and finished with 8 walks and 5 RBIs as a team.

Gavin Shrum got the win on the hill for Knightline. In his 3 IP, he did not allow any earned runs on just 1 hit. He finished with 3 strikeouts on the day.

Zach Luciano led Creekside at the plate, going 1-2 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI. Owen Mandler and Andrew Salupo both contributed by going 1-2 with a run scored each. Creekside scored 4 runs on 6 hits, along with 6 walks and 4 RBIs as a team.

Luciano took the loss for Creekside. He gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits in his 1IP. He finished with 3 strikeouts on the day.

BALLISTIC BREAKS OUT THE BIG GUNS

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic Baseball made the presence known Monday night as they bashed their way to an impressive 9-0 victory over Whiting Roll-Offs.

TJ Border was on some kind of tear at the plate. He was a perfect 4-4 with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Collen Shaffer finished the day 2-3 with 3 runs scored, and a pair of RBI.  Will Morrow also knocked in a pair of RBI on a 1-3 day.

Dawsom Morrow took the impressive win on the hill. He went all 7 innings and gave up 0 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 8 while walking none.

Ben Miller had multiple hits for Whiting going 2-3 on the day.  Nick Vitale put together a .500 effort finished 1-2.  Brennon Porter also went 1-3 on the day, along with Sal Mineo.

HITTING PLUS PITCHING EQUALS ASTROS DOMINATION

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons played the definition of a complete game on Monday night as they pitched well, and hit their way to a 10-0 mashing of the Prospects.

Mason Sike was the big bat in the Astro lineup. He went 2-3 on the day with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Gavin Miller also managed multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  He also scored 2 runs.  Anthony Miller was never retired on the day as he went 2-2 with a walk and a RBI.

It was Tino Campoli that was their force on the mound. He went the distance throwing all 5 innings and only giving up 2 hits and no runs.  He struck out 3.

Gino Lazzari got a hit for Prospects going 1-2 on the day.  Olindo Pezzone also managed to scrap across a hit on a 1-2 day.
