YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Being a lineman at the varsity level in high school football is a very hard job. Getting the starting nod to be upfront at Ursuline High School can be even tougher. Ross is one of many seniors that start on the offensive line at Ursuline, and he has embodied the leadership role all season long.

Coming off a devastating loss in last year’s State Championship Game to Clinton Massie, Ross, alongside his teammates, look to flip the script this year and end the year with a different type of feeling. THE BOYS ARE BACK!

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Chaney Cowboys are off to a quick 4-0 start to the season and looking to keep that winning streak alive this week against Canfield. One of the biggest advantages that Chaney has is their speed and athleticism and that is led by LeBron Donlow from his wideout and defensive back position and Rolando Bruno, a key starter in the trenches who is always ready to do the little things to make the Cowboys succeed whether he gets noticed or not. LeBron possesses a unique ability of size, speed, and football I.Q. that helps him be in position to make plays on both sides of the football week in and week out.

In this week’s player profile, Bruno and Donlow sat down with Steve Leslie to talk about their careers at Chaney, what their goals are for the season and future aspirations after the season ends, a rapid fire questionnaire with both players, and so much more!

LEUGERS’ LOCKED IN

* Contributed by Anthony Romo

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- There is a lot of experience when you look up and down the Ursuline defensive line, and you don’t have to look much further than Casey Leugers to see that with experience, comes skill. Leugers, who is now in his third season starting on the defensive line for the Irish, has already proven to be a game changer Ursuline in 2022. Ursuline has already made two deep playoff appearances during Leugers’ time making an impact for the Irish, making it to the Regional Final in 2020, and then advancing all the way to Week 16 last year, coming up just short in the State Championship Game. The 2022 squad is looking to take that next step, and hoist the golden hardware come this December, and Leugers could play a big role in that happening. In this week’s player profile, Casey talks about the toughness it takes to play as a lineman during football season, the goals for this season, and more!

FEROCIOUS FRASCO

* Contributed by Anthony Romo

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- Most high school football players have to work their way up through their respective programs, starting on the Freshmen team, then building reps with the Junior-Varsity squad, in hopes of making a good enough impression one day to be able to go out under the Friday night lights and represent their city. Brian Frasco’s journey has been quite different than most high school football players.

Frasco has been a four-year starter for the Ursuline Irish, a team that went 2-8 during his freshman season, and one that is now looking to take that extra step after making it all the way to the State Championship Game during his junior campaign. Alongside many other experienced linemen for Ursuline, Frasco helps lead one of the most potent offenses in the area, as the Irish have yet to score less than 30 points in a single game this season through three weeks. After suffering their first loss of the season a week ago, the road doesn’t get any easier for Ursuline as they travel to Mollenkopf Stadium this week to take on local power Warren G. Harding. In this week’s player profile, Frasco spoke about his high school journey at Ursuline, what to look forward to in this week’s matchup, and more!
