SALEM FALLS SHORT AGAINST LADY WARRIORS

SALEM, OH- The Quakers saw their 7 game winning streak snapped so its time to start another one as soon as Mother Nature allows. On a wet evening, the Lady Quakers continued their streak of having more hits than the opposition (7-6) and striking out less (5-4). Every game this season they have done so on both fronts.

Meg Rossero delivered a smoking line drive RBI single in the fifth for the lone run. Bailee Thorn singled twice to extend her hitting streak to 10 games and Taylor Thorpe walked twice and singled to take her streak to 9 games.

Brooke Veglia had a hard hit ground ball single up the middle. Hannah Kelm took a single down left field and Hayden Carner had the other Quaker hit.

The Salem offense stranded 10 runners in the game but did get two sac bunts down.

Jordan Anderson had three hits for WB including a home run with 3 rbi in the game.

The defense made a nice double play on a bunt pop up towards the mound that fell. With the ball in the air, the runner at first froze. Taylor Thorpe threw to first for one out and Brooke Veglia alertly pivoted and fired to two where Bailee Thorn applied the tag for another Quaker double play to end the 6th.
