The Wildcats had four players in double figures. Led by Jared Lazcko with 18 points. Aiden Slocum has 15, Trey Metzka added 12, and Carson Ryan finished with 11.

Thomas Cardiero Lee the Indians with a game-High 20 points. Christian Graziano was also in double figures with 14.

EAST PALESTINE, OH- It may have been senior night, but Joclyn Fristik was able to grab some spotlight on Monday evening for her hard work.  The Junior Guard helped propel East Palestine to a 60-46 victory against East Liverpool.

Fristik scored a career-high 34-points while breaking the single-season record for three-pointers (54) and also broke the career record for three-pointers made (98).  Oh, and by the way, she’s still left with a season and change to reset the bar in those categories as well as several others.

East Liverpool was led by Emma Ludwig’s 27 points, along with Shayla Foster with 8.

GILMORE GOES FOR 21; URSULINE BOUNCES BOARDMAN

For Ursuline, Paris Gilmore found her stroke for 21 points to lead the Lady Irish.  Cara McNally had 11, and Jamie Nelson had 7 points respectively.

Poland returns to action Saturday as they travel to Warren Harding.

UNITED LOCAL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH CHRIS KADVAN

HANOVERTON, OH- It’s been an adjustment in Eagle Country with a new cast of characters in place.  Coach Chris Kadvan has been building experience during games for his team in hopes that they can grow roots quickly and excel on the floor this season.  A challenging early schedule has the Eagles off to a winless beginning, but as they say, “it’s not how you start, but how you finish” that’s keeping the morale high in United.

We sat down with Coach K for his weekly check-in on YSN, and to discuss the state of the Eagles, as well as see which list Coach is on this year for Santa’s visit to the O-H!

All that and more on this week’s Coach’s Corner with Chris Kadvan!

FEED ‘EM SPAGHETTI: LEETONIA CLAIMS BOWL AGAINST LISBON

LISBON, OH- If you thought Marco Ferry was going to be content with just being one of the top rushers in Ohio, you’re sadly mistaken.

He is looking to take the rushing title and make a little history doing so.

Ferry led his Bears past Leetonia on Friday’s Spaghetti Bowl against Lisbon by the final score of 48-27.  Marco marched for 330 yards and visited the paint on 6 (yes, six) different times on the evening on 34 carries.  Lisbon wasn’t going to wave the white flag, though, as RJ Schreffler had a night as well-rushing 19 times for 96 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Dylan Lennon went 3/6 through the air for 26 yards and a touchdown, while on the Blue Devil side, Schreffler went 4-for-12 with 71 yards and a score as well.

Leetonia improves to 4-3, while Lisbon drops to 1-6 on the year.

THE ZACH ATTACK

Opposing offenses this year certainly know the name Zach Murray, as he is part of a phenomenal Quaker defense that has held all three of their opponents below 15 points this year. The senior defensive end reeks havoc wherever he lines up, but he’s also been making his presence felt on the offensive side of the ball as well.

In this addition of Player Profile on YSN, Zach Murray lets us know which side of the ball he prefers and who are his biggest role models. Offensive lines and linebackers, you’ve been warned.

Beware THE ZACH ATTACK.
