COLUMBIANA COUNTY INVITATIONAL SEES REPEAT CHAMPIONS

COLUMBIANA OH- Repeat championships never come easy in sports. Columbiana’s girls golf team along with United’s Mati Zines both missed the memo as they repeated their feats from a year ago at the Columbiana County Girls Golf Invitational held Tuesday at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club. Zines repeated the individual honor and set the 18-hole school record with a round of 74. Columbiana took the team title carding score of 404.
The Clippers were led by Maddie Jackson 94, Hailey Muntean 100, Sophia Perry 103, and Hannah Moffett 107. United (415) took second behind Zines’ 74, Emma Murphy 102, Olivia Ashburn 114,and Abby Jones 125. Southern (441) was led to their third place finish by Kennedy Lewis 93, Paige Riggs 114, Caty Brewer 115, and Rylee Digman 119. East Palestine was represented individually by Kayla Bland 108 and teammate Addy Bycroft 110. Heartland Christians’s Evelyn Carpenter carded a 114 individually on the day as well.
