EAST LIVERPOOL OH- Two rounds spread out over two days was not enough to settle the individual title at the Buckeye 8 Golf Championship.

East Liverpool’s Preston Dawson put himself in contention for the top spot, shooting 79 on August 14 at Cadiz Country Club. Tuesday at Belmont Hills in the final round the Potter Senior carded a 76 forcing a playoff with defending champion St Clairsville’s Andrew Abel. One playoff hole would decide the winner as Abel, after a tough luck drive, recorded a bogey while Dawson would go on to post par claiming the individual title.

St Clairsville would take the team title posting a two round score of 632. Beaver Local finished 4th with a score of 791. Owen Hill led the way for the Beavers with rounds of 92-82. Teammates Andre Wiegand 100-104, and Britton Hickman 105-101 each contributed to the 4th place finish.

East Liverpool would finish in the 6th position as a team.  The Potters received contributions from Aaron Dieringer 99-98 and Cooper Klein 114-117.
