DUKES ARE HAZARDOUS ON OFFENSE

CANFIELD OH- In the second contest of the day for The South Range Holiday Tournament, a strong Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) team in The Marlington Dukes entertaine All-American Conference (AAC) representative in The Austintown Fitch Falcons. With The Alliance Aviators emerging victorious earlier in the day, Marlington was looking to match wins with their conference foe.

Despite an earlier game start time than usual, The Dukes remained unaffected and laser focused on getting back on track following a heartbreaking loss to Canfield. Marlington scored on a multitude of ways through multiple girls to take a 20-1 advantage in the first quarter. That lead continued to grow in the second quarter; however, Kylie Folkwein became a mini spark plug on offense for The Falcons, continuing to show her growth and development in the sport.

With a lead that was tethering on a running clock territory at halftime for Marlington, The Dukes were able to surpass the 35+ point threshold to enact a running game clock. Time was not on The Falcons side, as Marlington, complemented with three double-digit scorers, was able to complete a 55-22 victory over Fitch.

A big congratulations goes to point guard Maria Warner, who became The Dukes all-time assist leader in the victory. While also dropping 10 points in the contest, Warner became The Player of The Game. Both teams will have a second game in the holiday tournament, with The Falcons and The Dukes both being in-action again on Thursday, December 29th. Player of The Game interviews can be found below!
