EAGLES WALK OFF ENDS OFFENSIVE MARATHON
HANOVERTON OH- It was a marathon of a game on Friday for United as they faced off against Mineral Ridge, ultimately outlasting the Rams in a thrilling 16-15 victory that ended with a walk-off double in the 9th inning.
Grace Coffee emerged as the hero for United, delivering the game-winning blow with a clutch 2 RBI double to seal the win.
United’s offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Joshlynn Irey, who went 4-6 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Sam Lippiatt, Kiley Hetherington, and Brittany Miller also made significant contributions with multiple hits and RBIs.
Mineral Ridge put up a valiant effort, with Aaliyah Wall, Sullivan Sandy, and Laney Rigley leading the offensive charge with three RBIs each. Megan Haynie and Lily Merolillo also contributed with key hits and runs scored.
