Ashtabula,OH- Tate Hudson was the star of the show for the Jefferson Falcons on Monday, racking up three hits in three at-bats to lead his team to a dominant 9-2 victory over the Edgewood Warriors. Hudson got things started with a single in the first inning, then added another single in the fourth and a double in the third inning.

The Falcons wasted no time taking control of the game, plating four runs in the top of the first. After Hudson’s leadoff single, Logan Saksa smashed a two-run double, and Michael McGraw followed with an RBI groundout.

Jefferson added to their lead in the third when Luke Lambert scored on a tag-up play, and McGraw delivered another RBI single.

On the mound, Toby Dickson was stellar for the Falcons, earning the win with seven innings of two-run (one earned) ball. He allowed seven hits while striking out four and walking just one.

The Warriors’ Sean Lincoln had a rough afternoon, taking the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in just one inning of work without recording a strikeout.

Dickson helped his own cause at the plate, collecting two of the Falcons’ 10 hits on the day. The defense also flashed the leather, turning a double play behind their starter.

For Edgewood, Logan Kray and Alex Sperduto each had two hits, while Tony Hall and Mason Feather drove in the Warriors’ only runs of the day. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in Jefferson for the second game of this early-season conference series, with the Falcons looking to secure the sweep at home.
