GIRARD GRABS FIRST NE8 WIN OVER BULLDOGS

Girard grabbed a late lead and defeated Lakeview 8-3 on Monday. The game was tied at three with the Indians batting in the top of the fifth when Kaitlyn Culver’s sac fly scored one run for Girard.

Girard got things started in the second inning when Emily Rosace hit a solo homer.

Lakeview evened things up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning. Raegan Schick hit a solo homer.

The Indians scored three runs in the seventh inning. Girard scored its runs on an RBI single by Culver.

Rosace got the win in the circle. Rosace surrendered three runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Schick took the loss for Lakeview. The bulldog lasted seven innings, allowing 13 hits and eight runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Girard socked one home run on the day. Rosace had a four bagger in the second inning.

The Indians had 13 hits in the game. Rosace, Tori Owens, and Malina Serrano each collected multiple hits. Rosace went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Girard Indians Varsity in hits.
