HEAD OF THE KLASS

WARREN, OH- From an early age, seemingly every authority figure in one’s life stresses the “Student” half of the student-athlete equation.  They push the grades, and the books based on the success rate of becoming professional athletes, in reality, the odds are better that you would be struck by lightning.

That’s where Warren JFK was able to capture lightning in a bottle.  A young man who had the drive both on the playing field, and in the classroom.  An all-state selection, and one of the top producers in the classroom at one of the area’s finest and most challenging institutions.  When you talk about Eddie Kiernan, you can’t just isolate one thing that he does well- because that’s cheating him of the hard work that he’s put together to become a multi-dimensional talent on so many levels.  To label him competitive is an understatement, but so is saying he’s compassionate.

Kiernan is one of the most humble young men you will ever find, if you weren’t aware of who he was and the long list of his accomplishments- you’d think he was a choir boy, or a boy scout.  However, if you meet him on the gridiron, and judge him by his size alone- he’ll take your lunch and have you thank him for it.

Kiernan has it all.

But it isn’t by happenstance in the least bit.  Eddie Kiernan has proven to be one of the most detail-oriented, creative, strong-willed individuals that you’ll ever come in contact with.  At the ripe age of 18, taking that skillset into the world will only amount to big things for a small-town kid.

Our DJ Yokley finally had the chance to catch up with the phenomenon known by many names and talked about the past, present, and future successes of one- Eddie “Trip” Kiernan.
