HOBAN MAKES IT A HAPPY TRIP HOME

PIGEON FORGE TN- Taylor Gerring collected three hits in four at bats, as Archbishop Hoban defeated East Jessamine 11-0 on Saturday in Tennessee. Gerring tripled in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Gulia Scaglione tripled, and Mya Akers grounded out, each scoring one run. They added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Savannah Regan hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Gerring singled, scoring two runs. The Knights added two runs in the third after Adeline Herstich singled.

Gracelyn Schultz earned the win for Archbishop Hoban. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking none. Remie Smith took the loss for East Jessamine. She went three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking three.

The Knights accumulated 11 hits in the game. Akers provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led with three runs batted in. She went 1-for-3 on the day. Gerring and Madison Shenigo each collected three hits.
