HOOK WALKS IT OFF FOR BROOKFIELD

By Michael Wolfgang

BROOKFIELD, OHIO – A nail biter the whole way with timely hits and big pitches is the type of game Brookfield played Thursday night as they walked off Crestwood 5-4.

Sophia Hook had a walkoff single in the seventh innings to propel the Warriors to victory. Hook, Abbey DeJoy who homered in the game, and Jenae Pugh all had multi-hit efforts. Miranda Nicholson was the inning pitcher, finishing with 12 strikeouts on the evening.

Kayleigh Helm had multiple hits for Crestwood. Madison Dustman and Isabell Hunter each hit a double for the Red Devils.

Brookfield will enjoy this one and get back to work Saturday as they play a double header in Poland. Their first game will be against Boardman at 1:00, and then they’ll square off with the Bulldogs at 3:00.
