IRISH PUT THEIR HEAD DOWN INTO TOURNAMENT TIME

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO- Savannah Patrone would not be denied at the plate on Tuesday, picking up four hits and leading the Ursuline Fighting Irish to a 22-1 playoff win over Chaney.

Patrone singled in the first, doubled in the first, singled in the second, and singled in the fourth. The Fighting Irish totaled 26 hits in the game as Patrone, Brooke O’palick, Lilly Ditz, Mia Opalick, Mackenzie Smith, Liza Barbato, Gia Schiavone, and Katie Koulianos each managed multiple hits.

Patrone went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Irish. Mia Opalick was credited with the victory for the Irish as the pitcher surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out six and walking zero.

The Irish will move advance into the second round as they will wait for their opponent match up.
