ITS JUST A BOYD THING

YOUNGSTOWN OH- When we see seniors come through a program, we see the culmination of four years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears.  All of that going towards one goal which is to be the best version of themselves.  It’s what makes so many people proud on senior nights to watch the four year career of these athletes end in success. For Cardinal Mooney’s Logan Boyd, his Mooney career couldn’t have gone better. It has grown him into one of the best leaders this area has to offer. His work ethic has not only gotten his team to a successful stage, but it has helped him complete the ultimate dream of playing baseball at the next level.  Boyd will continue his career at Walsh University to not only further his athletic career, but also study towards his ultimate career goal in being a chiropractor.  He will leave handprints on this Mooney program that will be felt for years to come.

Boyd has put up the numbers to back up his words. On the season, Boyd leads the Cardinals batting .341.  Going along with that high average is an even higher on base percentage coming in at .526.  He has drawn 13 walks on the season, which also leads the team. Boyd has knocked in 9 RBI with 3 doubles and 1 triple.  In the field Boyd has only made two errors all season proving that he can definitely bring it on both sides of the field.

Boyd took the time to join Anthony Hartwig to talk about his career at Mooney, and what he has helped build inside the program. They also discuss playing at the next level, what being a part of the Mooney Family really means, and so much more. Check out the latest Cardinal Mooney baseball Player Profile exclusively on YSN!
