LEOPARDS PICK THEIR SPOTS, WALK OFF VS. SOUTH RANGE

LOUISVILLE, OH-  It came down to the last play, but the South Range Raiders were on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Louisville on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Louisville batting in the bottom of the seventh when Bryce Zuppe hit a solo homer.  The pitching was strong and was the story on both sides. Louisville pitchers struck out seven, while the Raiders sat down nine.

Jordan Shearer earned the win for Louisville. He went three innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out one and walking zero.  Brandon Youngs took the tough-luck loss for South Range. He surrendered one run on one hit over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.  Jake Gehring started the game for the Raiders. He allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out eight. Budniski started the game for Louisville. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one.

Offensively, the Raiders tallied seven hits in the game. Ben Rivera and Jared Bajerski each managed multiple hits for the RaidersBajerski and Rivera had two hits apiece to lead the Raiders.

For Louisville, Zuppe went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Louisville in hits.
