MOHAWK SLIPS UP IN THE FINAL FRAMES

NEW CASTLE OH- In a closely contested matchup on Monday, Mohawk softball battled fiercely but eventually succumbed to Union Area with a final score of 6-2. Mohawk held a 2-0 lead going into the sixth inning, but Union Area rallied with six runs in the final two frames to secure the victory.

Mohawk jumped out to an early lead, with Aricka Young leading the offensive charge with a clutch hit, driving in 2 runs for the team. Addy Moskal and Gianna Pezzuolo also contributed with hits, while Maya McGreal added a run scored to the scoreboard.

On the mound, Reagan Magno put up a solid performance for Mohawk, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing 8 hits and 4 earned runs. Despite her efforts, Union Area managed to capitalize on their scoring opportunities late in the game.

Union Area’s offense came alive in the late innings, scoring a total of six runs in the sixth and seventh frames to secure the comeback win. Mohawk’s defense battled hard, but Union Area’s timely hitting proved to be the difference-maker.
