MCDONALD HAS TO SWEAT IT OUT AGAINST BLUE JAYS

MCDONALD OH- In a tense pitcher’s duel on Monday, McDonald softball went head-to-head with Jackson Milton, narrowly coming out on top with a hard-fought 2-0 victory.

The game was a true battle of the pitchers, with both teams struggling to generate offense against stellar pitching performances. McDonald managed to break through in the third inning, as Isabella O’Brien came up clutch with a timely hit, driving in 2 runs to give McDonald the lead. O’Brien finished the game 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs, while Lauren O’Leary and Miley Titus each contributed with a hit and a run scored.

In the circle, O’Brien was lights out for McDonald, pitching a complete game gem. She allowed just 1 hit, while striking out an impressive 17 batters to shut down the Jackson Milton offense.

Despite the loss, Grace Johns managed to gather the only hit of the day for Jackson Milton, highlighting the difficulty of facing O’Brien’s dominant pitching.

On the pitching side for Jackson Milton, Brena McBeth put up a valiant effort, going 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, and striking out 5 batters. However, McDonald’s offense managed to capitalize on their opportunities to secure the win.
