VIKINGS CONTUNIE REIGN IN CONFERENCE

LEAVITTSBURG, OH- LaBrae pulled off a solid 6-2 win against Garfield on Monday at LaBrae High School.

The game got rolling with Garfield taking an early lead after Pesicek knocked in a run with a groundout. But LaBrae quickly flipped the script in their half of the first, with Landon Brunstetter smashing a single and a Garfield error bringing in a pair of runs to make it 2-1.

LaBrae kept the pressure on, tacking on another run in the second thanks to Christian Haught’s groundout.

Dylan Simpson was on point from the mound, bagging the win with a seven-inning stint where he gave up just two runs (one earned) on five hits while fanning eight. Hill was on the hook for the loss for Garfield, letting six runs (four earned) slip through in six innings of work.

At the plate, Brunstetter and Austin Rowe led LaBrae with two hits apiece, while Lucas Glaser, Nate Goldner, Brunstetter, and Aiden Doll each chipped in with an RBI. Simpson also showed off his wheels, snagging two bases.

For Garfield, Warnick and Grandizio managed two hits each in a tough outing.

LaBrae is set to hit the road for their next clash at Howland on Tuesday.
