BOARDMAN GETS SPLASHED AT THE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC-Boardman struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, getting dispatched by East Lincoln, 7-1.

Boardman got things moving in the first inning. Anthony Butto singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, East Lincoln tied things up at one. Logan Craig grounded out, scoring one run.

East Lincoln pulled away for good with a run in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored one run for East Lincoln.  East Lincoln then scored three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by East Lincoln was led by Garrett Michel, Gavin Houser, and Trey Spees, all driving in runs in the frame.

Seth Haigler was on the mound for East Lincoln. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero.

Jason Triveri started the game for Boardman Spartans Varsity. The lefty lasted four and a third innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out eight. Jac Cordon and Patrick Dorazio entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Butto led Boardman Spartans Varsity with two hits in three at-bats.

East Lincoln saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Michel and Houser all managed multiple hits for East Lincoln. Michel went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead East Lincoln in hits.
