POLAND LANDS ON WRONG END OF A WALK OFF

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Walk-off wins make for some of the most dramatic scenes in sports. Unfortunately for Poland, they were on the wrong end of a walk-off Wednesday in Myrtle Beach against North Central 10-9.

The ballgame was tied at nine in the bottom of the seventh inning when Landan Anderson singled on the first pitch he saw in the at-bat to drive in the game winning run for North Central. Poland trailed by four runs in the second inning but was unable to complete the comeback. Dominic Elia, Bryce Barringer, Jacob Hayes, Matt Paparodis, Chris Denney, and Teagan McCurdy all delivered for Poland with RBI’s to cut into the deficit.

Dylan Smith was the winning pitcher. The North Central pitcher finished with two runs and six hits given up over three innings, striking out one and not walking a batter.

Poland will return home Monday to host South Range at 5:00 p.m.
